20.01.2022 My entry into this year's Brisbane Portrait Prize Title: Sanyu Fierce Acrylic on oval canvas, 56cm x 81cm... Sanyu’s pose clearly reflects her fierce, self-confident, and strong personality. The cool tones reflect gentleness that somehow compliments her strength bringing a sense of empowerment in the viewer. Blue represents healing recognising her profession. The gladiolus flower and moon symbolise strength and femininity, respectively.
