25.01.2022 OMG. how embarrassment that the CEO doesn't know how much CKB spent on the transaccess. I know John :) and will be double-checking your figures. The City was the lowest in the state in returning invoices for MainRoads grants and probably still is. Putting the entire region at risk of losing significant funding. Roads aren't glamorous enough to have priority at CKB, I resigned from the Regional Roads Committee (a committee that generally only Mayors and Presidents attend as ...its really important) in December as I couldn't get information from the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder to properly fulfil my position. I was never replaced and it was never discussed. One councillor described the whole process of roads as being "that boring they just wanted to put a fork in their eye". This negligence of basic maintenance of infrastructure will take years to repair and I feel for the guys that used to take pride in our road infrastructure. When Murray Percasky leaves the city in December we will lose the corporate knowledge that has kept the city road system workable, next year has the possibility of needing a 4wd drive down some of our cities urban, tarmac high use roads is a real possibility. I don't believe the city has management capacity ATM to do roads and it should be contracted out to one of the smaller shires, Coolgardie and Menzies do a much better job of maintenance than CKB and they negotiate more efficiently with Mining companies to pay for their road use.

25.01.2022 This is not sour grapes or sore losers syndrome. I think most people are aware that I'm happy to no longer be in that environment. I dont agree with this and I couldnt tell you when I was on council. Do I think posting this makes a great deal of difference, of course not. The media and state government are both well aware of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulders management and they dont care. Of Course, the members around the table know. The majority dont care for transparency. ... Our local Parlimentary members know, but they are aware they can't do anything. Our local media know, they come to every meeting. Perhaps you could ask why they don't report. I have a roadworthy car and am a comptent driver, however the police are pretty big at keeping me to the speed limit. This is the same concept. There is a whole set of different laws for us out here in the Wild West. So if you are going to share it, share it to wider world. More to come :) #Auspolitics #dowhattheywant

23.01.2022 This here is the Altus Collaboration Update, a software development project undertaken by the City. This is the first of its kind in writing, every update prior to this was verbal. It's my understanding from initial discussions at Information Sessions that this has cost CKB about 1.2million, I haven't seen a business case study and it's not included in the Commercial Business committee. I don't know how much the City of Kalamunda put in, or why the City of Greater Geraldton ...withdrew. I'm not even sure anymore why ITVision is developing it, as they are the owners of Synergysoft. The outdated software that this is too replace. Are we funding their R&D? When the discussion was first had on this project, it was sold as the next endowment block, that all councils would subscribe and a wonderful money-making venture. Since we started with more than the two council reported here, is it a viable project? I don't know. As you can see from this update there is no budget information, as nothing in life is free, that means we have a budget line already for this, a quick look at the budget doesn't show any project. There is a lot of taxi fares back and forth on this project, so work is obviously ongoing. It's in the ICT Program so its obviously being implemented. Is it a good investment of ratepayer money? I don't know. As you can see from the update we may never know how much it actually cost. #CKB #software

22.01.2022 If I lose the Mayoral election, I will be off Council altogether. One of the main benefits of this will be that I can whinge. The frustration I've felt over the last few years is incredible. One of the things I wanted to achieve while on Council is for the Loopline to provide additional power for community groups. The first community group is BPDA's Markets, a micro-business incubator as well as a community event, although they will probably be a consistent user of the powe...r, the variety of community groups that have events in the park means that a large cross-section of the community will be able to use the power. Such a small thing as an increase of power is stopping the expansion of the Boulder Markets and diversity of foods available to everyone. As the park has many residential homes, it's not fair to use gensets and the only reason that power is available at all is that the fair society have shared their equipment to BPDA Four years, its been in the budget, four years I've been trying to get power and every month, (that's 48 times) "it is going to happen" well, yet again, it didn't. At least this month I can complain out loud. #Suzieformayor #voteforchange #bouldermarkets

17.01.2022 Thank You for all the love! As I said at the beginning of the campaign this was a win / win for me. If I won I could change council and if I didnt win I was out of a very toxic environment. There's a code of conduct rule which basically disallows a Councillor to bring a council into disrepute. Which means that I've had to be quiet about a lot of things that have been bothering me. ... As of Monday night, I'm not bound by that so I'm free to give my opinion. About everything. :) I can run a commentary about council and politics from an educated point of view, demonstrate dodgy shit to my heart's delight. So please like my page, share my upcoming posts to your friends, especially those who support the current Boys club, Any politicians you know and ask them to justify why the local Government minister doesn't do anything about the issues raised. #changecomesifyoulikeitornot

15.01.2022 Yes, this is where I will be on Sunday if you are looking for me!

13.01.2022 Less than 30% of people have voted. If you are on the electoral roll you should have a vote, if you didn't get a vote then go the to the Council Admin building and get a replacement. #suzieforMayor #voteforchange #democracy

13.01.2022 Quite a few people have told me that they haven't received their votes. If you're on the electoral roll you should have one, With what's going on around the state with Australia Post, I'm curious, did you get yours?

13.01.2022 Congratulations Mayor Bowler on returning to serving Kalgoorlie-Boulder for another 4 years. All the best. I lost - I do feel that I ran a good campaign and gave Kalgoorlie-Boulder an option. It’s just that I am not the option that the majority wanted! Thanks for everyone’s support. I will be putting my learnings to good use for the city.

08.01.2022 I expected the bullying to stop once I got off council but that was wishful thinking. I’m probably going to have to leave my community groups, some I’ve been involved in for most of my life if this keeps up so they can keep their funding.

05.01.2022 The first complaint I made against the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and the Crime and Corruption Commission was to do to with the use of council infrastructure for personal gain. Basically, an officer was using an equipment storage shed to store his Caravan, motorbike and towing vehicle, while the council equipment that was meant to be stored in the shed was outside. The officer, who is a friend of the Mayors..., was angered by my complaint and threatened in writing my employment. With hindsight, I should have quit then and saved myself a lot of heartaches, I should have known that if the other councillors weren’t going to support me in such an obvious case, the chance of them supporting me in other more governance-related processes was pretty slim. It’s worth noting that neither the Mayor/Deputy Mayor/CEO tried to protect me as a councillor from having my employment threatened. I tried for six weeks to get this addressed in council, bringing it up at to all councillors at two all-purpose committees. So you want to know what happened? Nothing, nothing happened. I received no notification from the city if any action had been taken. The council equipment is still sitting outside, but the door is closed now. The officer responsible is, as far as I know, still working for the City. The CCC, apart from sending a letter of receipt of my complaint, has been silent. The DLGSC sent a letter on my announcement of my becoming a Mayoral candidate that I would receive a $5000 fine if I discussed this complaint during the campaign. Then when I ended my local government career they immediately dismissed this and all other complaints as not in the public Interests. I wish I was in the purple circle so I could get my stuff stored for free.

01.01.2022 Did you see my bill board? it certainly is a traffic stopper! Thanks @kalbilboard. #SuzieforMayor #marketingKalgoorlie
