20.01.2022 The Blue Mountains swimming clubs were well represented at NSW Country Championships. 99 individual events from Glenbrook, Springwood and Katoomba with 78 personal best races. Glenbrook secured total of 15 medals (4 Gold, 6 Silver, 5 Bronze)... Glenbrook boys were very strong and came 8th from over 60 country swimming clubs. Great effort. Angus Bolton has made 3 qualifying times for 2019 Hancock Prospecting Australian Short Course Championships in Melbourne. Haig Buckingham has broken 2 championships records 50 Breaststroke 29.67 (Record was 29.98) 100 Breaststroke 1'03.71 (Record was 1'04.77) This is the highlight short movie! Enjoy. 19.01.2022 2019 Hancock Prospecting Australian Age Swimming Championships is over. Well done to all swimmers who competed at the Australian Age Championships. Highlights... Haig Buckingham secured a silver medal in the 100m Breaststroke with 1:06.43 (PB, -1.32). In the same race, he broke 50m Breaststroke NSW record of 30.83, his 50m split time was 30.77. It was an amazing race! He also competed in the 200m Breaststroke and came 11th, 50m Free (25.44 PB) and 100m Free (55.74 PB). Angus Bolton made a first national final in the 400m IM and also swam 4:37.34 (PB, - 3.31). He came 8th. He also competed in the 200m Fly PB and came 12th, 200IM PB came 14th and 200 Breaststroke PB came 22nd. Declan Quirk competed in the 50m (25.19 sec) and 100m (55.36 sec) Freestyle. Both are PBs. It was his first nationals. Rieley swam like a sword fish. 50m Free 25.12sec PB 11th. He just missed the final by 0.04 sec. In the 100m Free 55.28 (PB -2.24 sec) he came 19th. It was his first nationals too. Callum Wamsley swam 100m Breaststroke (1:12.98) strongly and smashed his personal best by more than 1 sec. Olivia Fawns competed her first national age for 100m and 200m Breaststroke. We had 4 relays and all relays had strong finishes. 9th Boys 14-15 4x50 Free relay, Rieley, Callum, Haig, Declan PB 15th Boys 14-15 4x50 Medley relay, Rieley, Callum, Haig, Declan PB 29th Boys 14-17 4x100 Medley relay, Josh, Haig, Angus, Declan PB 56th Mix 13-17 4x50 Medley relay, Bree, Olivia, Declan, Rieley PB Well done everyone. 02.01.2022 These boys did it again at Canberra Classic Meet. They have made several Australian Age qualifying times. They also made Splash for Cash event. 3 Glenbrook swimmers made this event. Declan managed to secure 2nd place and cash. I wish I could have been there!
