25.01.2022 On a lighter note

24.01.2022 I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Land on which I stand. I acknowledge the Dharawal people and pay my respects to Elders past and present.

23.01.2022 From Monday I will be wearing a mask for face to face sessions. This is on the latest advice from NSW Health and the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Masks are recommended but not mandated. Please note that children under 12 are not required to wear a mask and I will not be asking them to wear one. If you are unable to stay 1.5m away I will supply you with a mask to wear. You may like to share this resource with your child on mask wearing: https://www.middletownautism.com//Seeing_other_people_wear ( thanks to Tara Tuchel at Autism Lettle Learners) Please email me if you have any concerns. ( [email protected]) Thank you for your patience as we respond to all these therapy changes. What a year! And remember "Lets be Covid safe together"

21.01.2022 Love the tummy time but it can be a challenge! Lovely study looking at the benefits of tummy time

21.01.2022 Please sign this petition. Ndis is looking at bringing in outside assessors to determine a child’s needs. I can’t see that an assessor, new to a child is going to capture all their needs. That assessor is going to have to have awesome skills across communication, movement, sensory, cognitive, daily living, equipment ,etc. Not only do I think that supertherapist is mythical I’m pretty confident they won’t be working for the ndis. Rant ended but click on the petition here ( takes 1 minute!) http://chng.it/P2VBRwcQvz

20.01.2022 At the going down of the sun and in the morning We remember them Lest we forget

11.01.2022 Lots of info on the NDIS page regarding AT equipment.

11.01.2022 NDIS dropped news yesterday re independent assessors and a change to how your plan is planned. Sounds like this is going to happen and is about 6 months away. I know everyone is busy but it would be good to give some feedback to NDIS about this: https://www.ndis.gov.au/community/have-your-say Read below re changes

10.01.2022 So tricky finding a support worker when you have young kids. I am happy to put up Sarah's details as I have worked with her to help her young daughter to smash through her gross motor goals. If you are looking for someone you can contact Sarah on [email protected] or 0438 453 340.

09.01.2022 "People with autism need friends who are willing to take the time to know them" so we can all benefit from these friendships. Lovely explanation.

03.01.2022 Has anyone tried these "Plae" shoes? They look pretty amazing. You can even get different sized tabs so orthotics or AFOs can fit in. And they look a little bit cool. And they have sandals!!!! Thank you to Kate Amidy for putting me onto them. You have to be quick tho whilst they are on sale. https://plae.com.au/about/

02.01.2022 Well this has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride over the last few weeks BUT NDIS is saying it is OK to use your plan flexibly to help you access therapy during this time. So they will consider devices to help access telehealth ( if you don't have one) and even home exercise equipment!!! It is important to read the fine print so go to: Cheers to NDIS for getting this out there!https://www.ndis.gov.au//participants-co/using-your-budget
