23.01.2022 Today we celebrate World Maritime Day and recognise the importance of Sustainable Shipping for a Sustainable Planet. Earlier this year we made a commitment to the environment by implementing Svitzer Australia’s Emissions Reduction Strategy. Six months into the program we have recorded positive progress including; approval for two 100kW solar photovoltaic (PV) power projects, recent fuel consumption results have been equal to or better than the target 5% reduction on 2019 leve...ls, and Port Tracker has now been fully implemented in nine major ports. Although there is always further progress to be made in this space, as part of the maritime community we strive to grow and innovate for the future. 23.01.2022 In April, Svitzer crews and tugs assisted ex-HMAS Success on her final journey from Port Pirie to Whyalla, South Australia for final deconstruction, scrapping and recycling (DSR), all of which will be carried out locally. Commissioned in 1986, HMAS Success was recognised as the Royal Australian Navy’s longest serving ship, and one of the largest for over 30 years. Svitzer is proud to have assisted HMAS Success during her service into various ports around Australia, and follow...ing decommissioning, to her final destination. Pictured Tug Wonga towing ex-HMAS Success in the Spencer Gulf, South Australia. A big thank you to the Svitzer crews involved in the successful tow and photo credit to Tug Master Daniel Payne for capturing this fantastic shot. #teamsvitzer #southaustralia #spencergulf #svitzerau #instashipping #svitzer #maritime

20.01.2022 One of our Queensland based tugs Clontarf was on hand to assist MOL Tokyo’s bulk carrier Zuiyo for her inaugural visit to the Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd. MOL and Svitzer has a longstanding relationship Australia-wide that spans several decades. As MOL’s preferred and trusted provider for towage services - Svitzer provides, on average, nine tug jobs per day for MOL vessels in Australian ports. This amazing and dramatically lit shot was captured by MD Photography. Thanks to the Port of Brisbane team for sharing #svitzerau

18.01.2022 Today marks World Mental Health Day a way to shine a light on this extremely important issue, during a stretch of months that have changed the world forever. Our number one priority is the mental health, wellbeing and safety of our team, and we strive to support each other. From a corporate standpoint, we offer a range of services to support our onshore and offshore colleagues. Some of the more pertinent initiatives include; counselling services for all employees and their... families, a series of webinars focusing on mental health via a trusted partner, health insurance discounts, flexible working options to improve work-life balance and a Soft Tissue Early Intervention Program. We want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the Svitzer Australia team and highlight how appreciative we are of the hard work and dedication our team showcases on daily basis. The challenge of seeking success where possible and progressing with positivity has been exceptional, especially during this turbulent time. Thank you. #WorldMentalHealthDay #YouAreNotAlone #svitzerau

16.01.2022 A rare sight for Newcastle, Höegh Tracer, a RoRo or roll on roll off vessel for transporting machinery and vehicles made her maiden call to the Port of Newcastle last week. Svitzer crew and vessels from both our tug and lines operations in Newcastle safely and successfully assisted the 200 metre vessel into berth - great job! We look forward to supporting the Port of Newcastle in their plan to diversify trade through the Hunter region.... 16.01.2022 Looking to the Northern Territory, we see some spectacular weather that our Svitzer Australia crew captured aboard tug Wyong! When approaching this movement, the Wyong crew teamed up with tug Mataranka to assist 179m long bulk carrier ‘Carme’ to depart Darwin Port. As our team works so hard to provide the best possible service to our customers, it is great to see this perspective from the wheelhouse it’s a little like a thank you from nature. #svitzerau #darwin

05.01.2022 We were thrilled to support Science Week last week at Ridge View Secondary College in Western Australia as part of our partnership, the Oceans Project. This year's theme for Science Week, Deep Blue: innovations for the future of our oceans, tied in perfectly with the Oceans Project - a partnership with Ridge View Secondary College and Coastal Lakes College and OSM Maritime Group in Western Australia to promote local pathways, build awareness of the maritime industry and the broader global issues of ocean sustainability. #scienceweek #deepblue #maritimejobs #svitzerau #teamsvitzer #education #instashipping
