18.01.2022 I guess it had to happen. We found the limit on the Subi 5EAT transmission. Everything went well when we had it on the Dyno a couple of weeks back. But since then it intermittently had a bunch of neutrals. With the pan off, I see lots of crunchy bits. Time to play transmission specialist.

13.01.2022 A very broken and very complex transmission. All part of development.

12.01.2022 Pretty happy with how the new turbo install turned out. I’ve replaced the old APS SR40 turbo with a new Garrett G25-660. The old turbo ran out of puff at 285kw at the wheels with a fading 23 psi. This turbo is capable of 30 plus psi and around 350kw. We are still running the standard non forged short motor atm so we won’t push too hard on it. Maybe just 300kw for now, but the dyno will tell us more. When we get the new forged bottom end together and fitted, we will be able to stretch this turbo to its maximum. Then we will see what breaks first. Transmission, diff or driveshafts.

09.01.2022 I spent the day removing glass and hardware, and extra weight out of the L/H side doors. Still got the R/H rear to go. I’m leaving the power window in the drivers R/H front door. (Little luxuries) I’ll be making up light weight frames to support the new lexan plastic windows. So far the Front door started at 23kg, now 12kg. The rear door was 16kg, now 9kg. So 21kg saved. My goal is as close to 1000kg as I can get. Last weigh in before this was 1191kg. Original weight as a road car it was 1560kg. So it’s worth the efforts.

08.01.2022 Here’s a page with some info about our SVS Subaru Liberty Gen 3 station Wagon Drag car. I’ll be adding more photos and info soon

03.01.2022 On the Dyno this morning, let’s see what she has with the new G25-660 Garrett turbo. Keep an eye out for results.

01.01.2022 Ok so after a few tweaks and fixing a sticky waste gate, we had a 338kw run at 27psi. But considering it’s still a stock bottom end we bought it back to 25psi. Final result 325kw. Yeah baby. Please ignore the Dyno boost graph, it played up. Think I was getting boost from the control solenoid hose .
