25.01.2022 Change is coming ...

25.01.2022 The attempt by a bullying heckler to excuse himself was challenged by the audience

25.01.2022 The plans are interesting - fresh, colourful and imaginative. Worth clicking on the link to put your thoughts into the well designed survey. Responses close Monday 23rd October. Use the link to go straight to the survey: http://www.123contactform.com/fo/Foreshore-Renewal-Strategy

24.01.2022 "Imagine a future in which every one of Australias 537 local government areas, including all our capital cities and major regional centres, achieve net zero greenhouse emissions. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it could be closer than you think" Lesley Hughes Professor, Department of Biological Sciences, Macquarie University

22.01.2022 .."Cottesloe will become old and dishevelled..."

20.01.2022 Democracy - get involved in your community and earn the right to vote

18.01.2022 Noisy minority rules the Council yet again:

18.01.2022 "If you slow down development in cities, houses will sprawl out over farmland, and people will wind up making longer commutes. You cant legitimately call yourself an environmentalist, Wiener says, unless you support dense housing in walkable neighborhoods with public transportation." San Francisco

16.01.2022 "WE HAVENT JUST DESIGNED A BUILDING..ENERGY EFFICIENT PATENTS HAVE JUST BEEN FILED We havent just designed a building, we have gone back to first principles and re thought the energy aspects of the building and the building materials. In October, 2017, Garry Baverstock filed patents for two of his innovative and ground breaking energy efficient technologies: a solar hot water system and a solar air conditioner. ... The four year design development, trials and prototype manufacture happened here in Perth, and its application will be a first for Cottesloe, a first for Australia and a first for the world. Not only will these inventions significantly reduce owners power costs by as much as 65% but they will significantly contribute to Cottesloe Town Councils legislated commitment to reduce the carbon footprint by 20% by 2020. Garry has drawn on his lifelong professional involvement in sustainable building design in all its aspects to now focus on the elements of building that have in the past been huge users of energy. The inventions will, to a large extent, make high power bills a thing of the past, while reducing green house gas emissions. An additional part of the energy reducing strategy will be the integration of a new building brick system which supports the thermal mass aspect of the building. The brick system has been successfully trialled in Germany and the Eastern States. Its integration into the SVT project will be a first for Western Australia Local Planning Scheme No.3 - Amendment No. 5 Has finally been approved.

15.01.2022 we look forward to seeing these improvements unfold when you join Council

12.01.2022 Let's not allow a small group of angry NIMBYS to derail an excellent, forward-thinking project. We want the 'reasonable person' voice to be heard. We want choice and the freedom to downsize in our own neighbourhood. Come to the Town of Cottesloe meeting Tuesday 20th September 6pm (Broome Street) and add your positive vibe to the meeting. You just have to show up !

12.01.2022 Our supporter and advocate for a vibrant Swanbourne Village. Joine Futurue Bayeswater speaker series this Thursday evening

12.01.2022 It's not whether infill is coming - it's what kind of infill do we choose. High quality architecture, organic design, light, shade and greenery and sympathetic to the neighbourhood - or concrete and glass blocks? Western Suburbs Weekly 30th August 2016:

10.01.2022 Surprising bedfellows? The Greens Party (trees + sustainability) got into bed with The Property Council WA ( greedy developers as some would say) and have produ...ced a number of reports about development in Perth. And co-author of the report, Kieran Wong, architect and urban designer will be our guest speaker on Thursday evening. Don't miss out! You can find a copy of the (same) report at THE GREENS WEBSITE http://greens.org.au/wa/wa2.0/designperth OR PROPERTY COUNCIL WEBSITE http://www.propertycouncil.com.au//Property_Council_Launch OR CODA WEBSITE http://coda-studio.com/2016/06/designperth/

09.01.2022 Building solar homes are part of the answer to reducing fire damage risk. Ecotect Architects designed the Swanbourne Village Trust project - which demonstrates all these principles. There is zero risk that these homes would ever catch fire. ... Passive solar houses always are superior to all other planning solutions, not just for energy conservation but also fire, and sustainable economics generally with inter-generational appeal. Mass houses do not burn.

09.01.2022 There are many unanswered questions about the Cottesloe Residents and Ratepayers Association, who they represent and what level of consultation takes place with residents of Cottesloe before statements are issued:

09.01.2022 Don't let facts get in the way of a decision. Only 3 councillors listened to evidence, others listened to the small group of activists - people who pull their strings, who networked the town to put them in office.

08.01.2022 Claremont Council is moving ahead on Swanbourne Station:

08.01.2022 Choice. Apartments matter:

07.01.2022 East Ward of Cottesloe : Vote for this Candidate. Election papers are in the mail. Kirsty Drury Barrett has already shown her strength, independence and effectiveness in her community work. Awarded Cottesloe Citizen of the Year 2019, she will add power and energy to our Council and work well with the existing Councillors for positive community results, be it for the beach foreshore, cycling, transport, children's amenities, flora and fauna.... Whatever our Council needs to decide on, she can bring a focussed open mind to the discussion. We need independent thinkers. Please Vote KIRSTY and SHARE this message to all in Cottesloe. 06.01.2022 Thanks Josephine, there are many people who share your views, but The Post seems to specialise in divisive and negative articles and letters. We've been shocked at the selective reporting which often has no bearing on the real situation as we see it. The silent majority is not represented.

06.01.2022 Another attempt at a recision motion by the Crs. Boulter/Pyvis/Thomas gang of three. Ignoring all expert opinion, the silent majority of Cottesloe residents and quoting incorrect numbers, they continue to hold back progress in our suburb.

04.01.2022 Good for you Ara - you didn't deserve this treatment. The aggressive and disrespectful behaviour in the Council chambers shows the underbelly of some of Cottesloe's society.

03.01.2022 Making developments beautiful and incorporating green is a win-win for our society, our communities, our wellbeing. Innovative architecture and sympathetic design for a healthy built environment and community interaction needs to be recognised, appreciated and applauded.

03.01.2022 People can put their views on the table at WA Apartment Advocacy: Apartments, townhouses, single residential houses? Whats your preference at this stage of your life? Instead of 1950's mindsets ruling Council decisions in whats allowed where, here we have a breathe of fresh air welcoming diverse views:

02.01.2022 Future Bayswater is educating and winning applause from the silent majority

01.01.2022 Worth going to Bayswater for this evening event:
