25.01.2022 The Swan River is the jewel in our city's crown and our annual Swanfish event promotes the community's connection to the river through fishing. Hundreds of fishers joined us for the 2019 event, catching and releasing more than two hundred and seventy fish over the weekend, showing why the river is a favourite with fishers. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the fishing community, our sponsors and supporting partners. 22.01.2022 Well that’s a wrap! We’d like to thank everyone that joined us over the weekend for our annual family friendly fishing event, Swanfish. Swanfish is Perth’s bigg...est community fishing event on the Swan River. Now in its 34th year Swanfish encourages families to get outdoors and enjoy the magnificent Swan-Canning River. From first time participants to people that have been fishing the competition for decades this years Swanfish had something for everyone. 16.01.2022 A huge thank you to everyone that joined us at Garvey Park this morning and who fished this weekend in our family friendly Swanfish event The fishing is better when the fish are biting as they say and there was definitely a lot biting this weekend! There were stories of lost mulloway throughout the night, pink snapper catches, great family day outs and various ‘first fish’ catches for the juniors. We seen some great catches come through and we can’t wait to share the...m with you over the next few days via the Facebook page and on the Swanfish website. So keep an eye out! There were lots of prizes awarded today all thanks to Mob Fishing Australia, Get Hooked Clothing, Department of Biodiversity, Conservations and Attractions and Shimano. Also a big thanks for the support from Getaway Outdoors, Fishability, Fisheries WA and the supportive team from Recfishwest to pull it all together. Stay tuned for a post event survey, we are keen to get your feedback to ensure we continually refine the event and look forward to Swanfish2020.

03.01.2022 Attention Swanfishers! Many of you have been enquiring as to potential dates for Swanfish 2020. Please hang tight, as we are currently extremely busy on many other projects here at Recfishwest, and will not compromise the quality of Swanfish just so it can be run in February.... We are currently investigating potential partners to ensure a sustainable future for the competition. At this point in time, the event may be delayed until March/April but once we have more information and a potential date, we will let you know.
