This National Missing Persons week, it’s a ...time for us, as a community, to come together and raise awareness of the issue of missing persons. It’s an issue that can affect anyone. You can find more information via the National Missing Persons website: missingpersons.gov.au/ #NMPW2020M The National Missing Persons Coordination Centre

19.01.2022 LOOK UP, AROUND & AHEAD Due to strong gusts and damaging winds overnight, please be aware that trees, branches and other debris may have fallen across lo...cal roads - drive slowly and ensure you're fully-focused on what’s ahead. Remember that trees and limbs may fall unpredictably. Being under or near trees may be dangerous and could cause injury - look around and look up. To report storm damage including fallen trees call the Victoria State Emergency Service on 132 500 from anywhere in Victoria. For life-threatening emergencies call Triple Zero (000).

18.01.2022 Yesterday, Swan Hill SES were paged to an unusual rescue. A mother duck and her ducklings had gotten stuck at the bottom of a pool, and although mum could fly out, the ducklings could not. All were safely removed and taken to the nearby lake (mum was watching from a distance). Great job team!! ... It has also come to that time of year again where we will be selling tickets for our annual duck race (Yes! We will still be doing the duck race this year-although with yellow ducks, not these ones ). Keep and eye on our facebook page on how you can get your hands on a ticket!

13.01.2022 Due to the nature of COVID-19, in recent times we’d taken a break from face-to-face skills maintenance and training to focus only on responding to emergencies. ...From this week, you might see us back out undertaking training in small groups to ensure we have the essential skills and capability required to respond to an emergency. Emergency services as a permitted industry are able to conduct critical training and exercising under the directions, as endorsed by the Victorian Chief Health Officer. Our crews are following all the COVIDSafe principles, wearing masks and working hard to ensure we are there for our community. Thank you

09.01.2022 Thunderstorms can be terrifying for your furry friends. Always ensure that wherever you house your pets they can't injure themselves or escape.

01.01.2022 Know what to do if your home is being threatened by major flooding: Bag it - by laying sandbags where water may get into your home. Block it - by covering your toilet and drains to prevent back-flow.... Lift it and Leave - by shifting valuables onto tables and benchtops, and leaving early to a family or friends house on higher ground (which is still ok to do in-line with COVID-19 restrictions).
