24.01.2022 It was fantastic to see such a strong turn out at the Midland Town Hall this week where important community conversations about homelessness took place, and I l...ook forward to continuing these discussions as we work to find solutions. The State Government’s homelessness action plan was released this week and it will underpin a raft of support initiatives. Our government has funded a $319m social housing economic recovery package and committed an additional $6.8m to homelessness services as part of our recovery plan. I applaud the efforts of many in our community who work hard in this sector, and the volunteers who donate their time to help and I am proud be able to support your efforts on a state level. In seeking ways to help those members of our community the City of Swan and Swan Rotary Club are hosting a roundtable discussion in Midland this Friday, 7 August 2020. In addition to sheep, this year we will also be offering shearing and treatment for alpacas and ilamas. Great value at just $10 for sheep, $30 for Alpacas and $60 for ilamas. So if you have one or just a few animals and find it tricky to have a shearer attend to your ‘small mob’ then bring them along. Animals must be in good health.... Bookings are essential so please call Rachel on 0413 011 610 to get your nominated time slot. We look forward to seeing you and your fleecy friends!
