25.01.2022 Our Stage 1 teachers working hard learning about Phonics to bring quality, effective assessment and learning opportunties into the classroom
25.01.2022 Our school is committed to strong foundations in learning in the early years of schooling. This was evidenced in our decision this year to run with two smaller sized Kindergarten classes and is again why we have made the decision to run with two Kindergarten classes in 2021. We currently have 18 enrolments for our 2021 Kindergarten cohort (that’s 9 students in each class at this stage), however, we are hopeful that we have more prospective enrolments still to make contact with the school. Despite being unable to run our regular transition program due to COVID, we have commenced working with and welcoming our new Kindy students and their families and look forward to getting to know them between now and the end of the year.
24.01.2022 The new NSW school curriculum will build strong foundations in numeracy and literacy, give teachers more time on essential learning, and better prepare students for future work and study. Find out more: https://bit.ly/30agpXV *Posted by the NSW Department of Education*

23.01.2022 Swansea High School - Year 7 Enrichment Class 2021 Swansea High School are expanding their opportunities to encourage, develop and support high achievement. The information below has been sent through by Swansea High School Principal, Andrew Pesle, for Year 6 students, parents and carers: Our existing structure (2020) of the Karakal Class is a combined Stage 4 class, with approximately 28 students, made up of both Year 7 and 8 students. Our Executive team has decided to cha...nge the structure so that next year we will have 2 separate classes; one class for Year 7 and one class for Year 8. In previous years we have had the ‘Karakal Class’ and an ‘Independent Learners Class’ (7S). A similar structure will still be in place next year, however, we will not be having students submit a project to be considered for the ‘Independent Learners Class’ like in previous years. We will identify students for our ‘Independent Learners Class’ via consultation with Year 6 teachers through the transition process. Applications for our Karakal Class are due by Wednesday 1st July (last week of term). Applications are to be submitted to Swansea High School. The Karakal Class admission test will be held on Wednesday 29th July (Term 3, Week 2). Please note, we may have to hold the test over a few days depending on the number of applications we receive. For further details and updates, contact Adam Young (Swansea High School GATs Coordinator) on 02 49711944 or via email at [email protected]. Additional information and updates will also be available via the Swansea Public School Skoolbag app notices. Regards Brett Carr
23.01.2022 To consolidate our unit on poetry, Stage 3 decided to hold an Open Mic Night in our classroom today. From Shakespeare to Banjo Patterson to remembering family members that pulled on the heartstrings. Thanks boys and girls for showing bravery and courage to get up in front of your peers. Why are poets always so poor? Because rhyme doesn't pay
