20.01.2022 MEET MARGARET | I met Charlie in 1964 and we married a year later. He was transferred from the Eastern States with the Army and was in the Special Air Service ...(SAS). After we married, he had two tours of duty with SAS overseas, including Vietnam. About seven years ago, he was diagnosed with dementia, but I had noticed signs of deterioration before then. It’s hard to see the person you have loved for over 55 years slowly disappearing. One of the resources that we really value is the Swan Valley Memory Café, it’s a lovely place to meet other people with similar life circumstances. Sometimes we chat about important things and other times it’s just nice to have fun and relax. 19.01.2022 Tuesday 27th was a great day at the Memory Cafe. We had lots of members and a few new ones who came to enjoy the friendship and the fun! Julie started showed us how to make our own bookmark by using" Zendangles". ( Zendangles is an easy to learn, relaxing ,and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.) this is what we did under instruction by Julie and the resulting book marks were very colourful and attractive!! We are continuing with our Community Board and the characters are very interesting ! Our next meeting is Tuesday 10th Novemebr at 10am at the Minchin centre. we are having a guest who is going to teach us some dance movements. This should be very interesting !!!! so hope to see you there.

02.01.2022 Tuesday 27th which is this coming Tuesday is our next Memory Cafe. Come along with as many as you like to bring! Have a nice morning meeting new people perhaps travelling the same journey as you and share your thoughts. We have a morning of fun, laughter, sing songs, happiness and friendship. Just come along and enjoy!!!! we meet at The Minchin centre Yule ave. Middle swan ( next to st Mary’s church). Off the Reid hwy. 10am start. We would love to see yourself and your loved one !!!!
