24.01.2022 When is the best time to inspect your home for termites? The answer may surprise you...

24.01.2022 An oldie / but a goodie. We still have a few spots left in 2020, but would suggest booking in straight away to avoid the red fangs. :)

22.01.2022 Family is lucky to be alive when they set off some store bought bug bombs, and their home exploded with them inside. Have a read of this.

19.01.2022 What do you do when you know you have termites under your timber floor? There are a lot of properties that have put timber down on top of the concrete slab. It’s much more comfortable in winter, it looks great and it’s easy to clean, so no wonder so many homeowners have elected this option. Yet, it can create a viable food source for termites. One of the greatest challenges we as pest controllers face is working out where the termites are coming in- where they are current...ly most active and then how to treat accordingly. This is where we rely on the very best in technology to save time, money and to minimise termite damage for our customers. The Termatrac T3i has three operating functions that assist us with finding termites. Here in this photo, the machine is sending a microwave signal through the timber and the graph indicates that there is a break in the wave... thus we are now aware of exactly where the termites are, at this very moment, under the timber. This allows us to put our termite bait bags in the most prominent location to achieve the best results! This will mean that the repair bill for our customer is minimised significantly. Technology is constantly adapting to make what was perhaps the most difficult part of treating termites - much easier. Remember - as always - if you find termites - do NOT disturb them or spray them with anything as this will only kill the few hundred you may have found but will do nothing for the 5 million in the nest! Killing the few hundred can mean several thousands in additional costs as now the pest controller has to play where are they now for many months to come. Killing the few hundred will not do you any favours. So if you find termites, try not to disturb them - and call a professional to eliminate the 5 million.

16.01.2022 COVID 19 Update - Re: SWATAPEST STATEMENT The Corona Virus continues to change the world around us on a daily basis. Therefore, after much consideration, we are once again, changing our procedure for how we will be carrying out pest management works. ...Continue reading

15.01.2022 Official Corona Virus Statement: Dear SWATAPEST Customers, We are in unprecedented times, experiencing something that we’ve never seen in our lifetime and can appreciate that there is concern throughout all public sectors. We make the following statement after heeding the advise from the government and medical experts. ... SWATAPEST Pty Ltd has for over a decade prided itself in the safety of you, your family, your pets and your immediate environment. This continues to be the case, perhaps now even more so. Here in Western Australia, the cases are still relatively low, and currently there is not even a single case of transfer. However, we appreciate that the Corona Virus is contagious and want to do all we can to ensure that our staff and you are as safe as possible. Therefore SWATAPEST Pty Ltd is now implementing our own strategy to ensure that your family and our staff remain safe at this time. It would appear that the most common transferring of the virus is through touch. As we travel from one premises to another, often touching a multitude of different surfaces within someone’s home and then going to the next home to do the same, effective immediately, all SWATAPEST staff will be wearing high quality disposable gloves for the duration of their time on your property. We always like to shake hands as a gesture of appreciation, however under the circumstances, we will opt to limit touch as much as possible. Upon completion of the job, your SWATAPEST technician will dispose of the gloves from your property into your rubbish bin. They will then be washing their hands with high quality disinfectant before travelling to the next job. At the next job, they will then put on a fresh pair of gloves and the process continues. We understand that this is going a bit beyond what the medical experts are suggesting, but as we said, your safety is our highest priority. All SWATAPEST technicians have been advised that if they are feeling even remotely unwell they will NOT be going into anyone’s home. We ask you, our favourite clients, to please respect our safety and if anyone in your household is feeling unwell, please advise us as soon as possible. If you, yourself are in self-quarantine, regardless of whether you feel sick or not, please advise us so we can take the appropriate precautions. We do have access to full body suits, and can attend to any pest emergency regardless of your health condition, but we trust that you would give us adequate warning so that we can prepare ourselves. By working together, we will get through this difficult time, and look forward to eradicating the pest bugs at your home soon. Regards, Daniel Bremer SWATAPEST Pty Ltd Managing Director

15.01.2022 Please take this seriously.

14.01.2022 Sometimes we just shake our heads when we find what the last pest controller did. They put so much insecticide dust in this roof, they’ve made all the different pests immune for years to come. Literally hundreds of fresh spider egg sacks!!! #swatapestphoto #swatapest @ Perth, Western Australia

12.01.2022 Why it is important to use the correct chemicals for the house construction.

09.01.2022 PSA - Tasmanian Killer Ants Found in CANNING VALE... Today the team at SWATAPEST attended a property located in the heart of Canning Vale. The task - to destroy multiple Jumping Jack Ant Nests. As many as 7 nests were discovered and destroyed on the suburban property, after the homeowner was rushed to the hospital for the second time in six months having anaphylaxis (difficulty breathing) symptoms.... Whilst Bull Ants are common throughout some Perth surrounds, the presence of the Tasmanian Killer Ant (Jumping Jacks) is a rare find here in the west. Known as the second deadliest ant in the world, it is believed that 3% of the population are highly allergic to Jumping Jack Ants, which is double that of bees. This discovery in the local area is a real concern, especially considering these nests were found within 300 meters of a local primary school and one of the nests discovered was on the walkway which many children travel on everyday. To find such a high concentration of Jumping Jack Ant Nests on one property, means it is highly probable that there will be many more in the area - as they are known to travel some distance from their nest. The team at SWATAPEST highly recommend that anyone living between Garden Street -Ranford Road and between Warton Road - Nicholson Road be extremely vigilant. Unlike most ants which bite, the Jumping Jack actually grabs hold of you and stings you from their back side. Even if you don't have a horrible allergic reaction it still hurts. We strongly recommend that you contact a local pest professional to ensure that the problem is dealt with and eliminated and not just pushed onto another property. As always, we are happy to help. Just phone us on 9277 0960 to book an Ant treatment at your home.

08.01.2022 We love getting feedback from our customers... just received this one a couple minutes ago: Testimonial: We used these guys to get ready for Spring. With a baby just starting to crawl, I wanted to minimise the amount of eaten cockroaches! They are well priced, professional and get great results. All the while having a friendly approach and being conscientious about safety. Haven't spotted a creepy crawly in a while! Well worth it. Leanne ***** - Gosnells

04.01.2022 Heard about a person dying from a New Virus in China - It may not be as scary as it sounds: Perhaps you have heard the news of a Chinese individual in the Yunnan Province dying from a whole new virus in recent weeks. This is certainly not the news that anyone in the world wanted to hear, however, before we all get a bit too carried away, let’s look at the facts and see some very distinct differences with this virus compared to the one already on everyone’s mind. 04.01.2022 Perth isn't just suffering from wild weather today - the perfect rodent storm is upon us. Have a read.

03.01.2022 You all know we treat bugs of all sizes, but did you know we have a solution to treat those nasty disease bugs as well. Purifying the air we breathe is no longer a superfluous luxury. An increasing number of micro-organisms and chemical pollutants are commonly found in the air we breathe in indoor environments; including viruses, bacteria and moulds. These all make our air less healthy to breath. This 3-part air filtration unit firstly removes airborne particles and pol...lutants from the air. It then uses UV-C Radiation technology to sterlise and eliminate micro-organisms before going through the last chamber which puts it through an ionizer process purifying the air. This unit filters air up to 300m3, eliminating 99.99% of the micro-organisms that are in the air including; odours, harmful gases, pollen, dust, fungi, mites, moulds, bacteria and viruses - including influenza, whooping cough, and yes, as just confirmed yesterday - the Corona Virus as well. Perfect for any home that has occupants suffering from respiratory conditions, hayfever or allergies. Also a perfect solution for childcare centres, pre-schools, aged care facilities, waiting rooms and office spaces. If you would like to know more, please contact us today.

03.01.2022 Hey Everyone - Just letting you know that we have had a very big job get postponed to next month - so if you were hoping to have someone come in and treat your place before the end of the year, we now have spots available, and a team happy to help. :)

02.01.2022 COVID 19 Policy Update: Yes, SWATAPEST is still open for business and carrying out all forms of pest control services to homes/businesses within the Perth/Peel regions. However, we have changed dramatically the way we carry out treatments to properties during this unprecedented time dealing with the Corona Virus. We appreciate your understanding. ... 1. Treatments to the inside of your home will only be carried out if absolutely necessary. This means that if you have seen the odd pest coming in from outdoors, we will only treat the outside of your home. Indoor treatments with the odd pest here or there will not be classed as 'needed'. However, if you do have an infestation inside your home, and if it is deemed as 'needed', then we will carry out the treatment inside. 2. Termite inspections - Are classed as 'emergency jobs', and therefore will be carried out as normal. Albeit, we will be wearing extra protection the entire time we are inside your home. 3. We ask that you stay 3-4 metres away from our technicians whilst they are onsite. Yes, we are aware that this is beyond the suggested measures, but this rule is put in place to allow our technician to roam freely whilst carrying out the service. We want to keep you safe as well. 4. Payments - We can understand the hesitation of paying for a service up-front over the phone, however, our on-the-road system for c/card payments is via an app on our phones. I'm sorry, but there is no way that we are going to hand our phone over to anyone to input their pin number on the same phone that we put up to our face. Therefore, our preferred method would be for payments to be made with our office staff over the phone at the time of booking, however, if you are uncomfortable with that, which is fine, the alternative will be for you to yell out all of your credit card details to us when we are onsite - from a distance. Any cash payments should NEVER be handed directly to us (must maintain a distance at all times), therefore we request that it be put in an envelop some distance away for us to collect. No cash change can be offered. 5. We will be using your outside garden tap to wash our hands/boots prior to departure. We appreciate your understanding regarding this measure. 6. Your receipt / certificate of treatment will be left in your letterbox upon our departure from site. 7. If anyone in the household suffers from a compromised immune system, is in mandatory self-isolation or is feeling unwell in anyway, PLEASE notify us prior to arrival as further safety precautions will be implemented. Our favourite part of the day is getting to chat and talk to our clients, so this is actually really difficult time for us. We look forward to the day when we can go back to normal, but appreciate your understanding regarding all during this time. Please remember we are still open for business to manage your pest needs. Most importantly - stay safe!!!
