24.01.2022 #BREAKING: The Australian Government has rejected the dumping allegations made by China against Australian wine exporters. Australian wine products to China ma...ke up more than a third of the total exports. Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said he respected the right of any nation to defend their domestic producers but he rejected the "dumping" claims. Our farmers are amongst the most efficient and least subsidised producers in the world recognised as second only to New Zealand in our levels of support. I note that this anti-dumping investigation will run for up to 12 months, and I am committed to working with the Australian wine industry to ensure that all necessary information is provided to refute any claim that Australian wine is being dumped."

22.01.2022 Congratulations John Kosovich Wines for winning Best Chenin Blanc of Australia at the inaugural Australian Chenin Blanc Challenge. The winning wine was the 2015... John Kosovich Reserve Chenin, which also won Best Chenin Blanc of Swan District. Margaret River winery Voyager Estate was awarded Best Young Chenin Blanc of Australia and Best Chenin Blanc of Margaret River for its 2020 Voyager Estate Chenin Blanc. More than 60 wines were submitted from around Australia for the competition judged at Mandoon Estate and organised by the Swan Valley Winemakers. Chenin Blanc has long been the most widely planted white grape variety in the Swan Valley and the region crushes around a third of Australia’s Chenin. 16.01.2022 ** SWAT COVID-19 UPDATE ** With regard to the Covid-19 pandemic, SWAT is determined to remain open for as long as we can do so safely and practically. We are now however looking at taking steps to reduce risk to our staff and customers by reduced staffing levels and opening times. This may mean a reduction in certain services and be an inconvenience to some customers but we are taking the public health risk seriously and are making this a priority. ... 11.01.2022 Swan Valley wineries liquor restrictions resolution: In response to the liquor restrictions update, we have amended the temporary restrictions to takeaway al...cohol across WA wineries. We have heard from a number of wine producers in the Swan Valley about the restrictions and worked to resolve this issue in support of local wine producers during these difficult times. The amendment now allows cellar-door sales of up to nine litres of wine (12 bottles) per customer per week in Western Australia. Sales to interstate and overseas customers or West Australian liquor licence holders wholesalers are not affected by the current liquor restrictions.
