25.01.2022 Reposting Western Australia: No matter which way you look in Australia's South West, you can be certain to experience spectacular views and Denmark is no except...ion. With scenery unlike anywhere else, this secluded little spot off the coast of Denmark will have you swooning as my_vision_photography did. This capture marks the spot where forests of towering trees give way to white sandy beaches. We trust you can see why we'll never get sick of these views! About time you #WanderOutYonder, isn't it? 24.01.2022 Canal Rocks is a thrilling spot to watch the water rush through a naturally formed channel in the granite. And when sunset comes around, it's an awesome looko...ut to admire the spectacular colours in the sky as well as the changing hues of the rock. This ancient granite formed hundreds of millions of years ago, and it's actually part of what makes the region so famous for fine wine - our granite soils and maritime weather are perfect for growing grapes! Find Canal Rocks in the northern part of the Margaret River region, near Yallingup. Stay safe and stick to the paths - or the bridge in this case - and drink in that amazing view. @mkz.imagery

20.01.2022 A visit to Hamelin Bay Holiday Park absolutely takes on the literal meaning of 'getting close to nature'. Right out the front of the beautifully located holiday... park remnants of an old timber jetty set the scene for one of the most peaceful interactions with ocean life you can experience in Western Australia. These stingrays swimming up to greet @racheeymary as she relaxes in the turquoise water are local inhabitants of the bay and can be seen every time the ocean is in a peaceful state. See more

19.01.2022 Powerful waves are a visual fascination when they break along our shores. As we have seen over the last couple of weeks, dangerous waves can be generated by low...-pressure systems. The size of the waves will be influenced by the size, strength, and duration of the weather system. Dangerous waves can put your safety at risk if you like being in, on or around the water. They can also cause damage to coastlines and property. So what causes dangerous waves and how can you stay on top of wave conditions? 18.01.2022 Millions of gum leaves fall to the ground daily throughout @australia , making this process one of the largest recycling challenges on the continent. Thankfully... the Dead Gumleaf Grasshopper and its billion strong army including specialised cockroaches, contain a special gut bacteria capable of digesting dried gum leaves, making this insect vital in soil-forming throughout the country. 15.01.2022 Fantastic news for the grand old Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse - she's been named a finalist in the Western Australian Heritage Awards. The lighthouse was built in 18...95 to keep mariners safe, along with three limestone cottages for the lighthouse keepers and their families to reside. In December last year, one of the cottages was transformed into an interactive time capsule - a mini museum filled with artefacts, animated technology and fascinating stories of the families who once lived at the tallest lighthouse in mainland Australia. It’s this wonderful, compact musuem, the Lightkeeper’s Cottage Interpretive Centre that’s up for the award, and well worth putting on your 'must visit' list along with a guided lighthouse tour. Winners will be announced next week - so fingers crossed for Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, and best of luck to all the finalists. Tim Campbell Photo

12.01.2022 The big 4 of the south west’s whale species. The blue whale...the humpback whale...southern right whale...and dwarf minke whale. These four are the most commonl...y encountered species here, and provide amazing whale watching experiences for up to 8 months of the year depending on the species. During May till late August they can be found in numbers off Augusta, during their northern migration. Then from September till early December off Dunsborough as they migrate back south again. This amazing coastline between the southern cape Leeuwin and northern cape Naturaliste boasts some of the best whale watching to be found anywhere in the world! Want to see southern rights nursing their new calves? Then Augustas got you covered. Want up to 20 pods of humpies an hour going past? Come say hello to Dunsborough. Want blue whales in clear shallow water? Geographe bay in Oct/Nov is for you. Minke whales race through in Sept/Oct. Whether it’s a boat based tour with @naturalistecharters or land based whale watching then #australias_southwest is for you. 03.01.2022 They're back! Thousands of whales migrate through Geographe Bay from August to December each year. Dylan Dehaas Films spotted this southern right mother and ...calf in the shallows off the coast of Dunsborough. Still critically endangered with a global population of around 5,000, female southern right whales can have a calf every three years. See these gentle giants in Geographe Bay throughout spring as you #wanderoutyonder. Jump aboard a whale watching charter or head to a land-based lookout such as Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse, Busselton Jetty or Point Piquet.
