These activities cause the muscles of the upper back to become weak and over extended. The band pull apart helps strengthen the rear deltoids, upper back at rotator cuff muscles. Helping to improve posture and overall shoulder health. How to do band pull aparts 1. Start with a light resistance band. 2. Brace your abdominal muscles. 3. Fully extend your arms and elbows and reach as far forward as you can 4. Arms, elbows, and wrists are straight and fully extended in front of you. 5. Retract your shoulder blades. 6. With your arms parallel to the floor and your shoulders retracted, slowly pull the band apart by extending your arms to either side of your body. 7. When the band hits your chest make an effort to pull it through your body.
