18.01.2022 Garam garam Maru na bhajiyas served with hot tangy chutney, Sweet and cold Rose Faluda, Hot and spicy Khichi.. My mouth has already started watering. These tantalizing dishes and much much more have always been on offer at all the Navrang events. After our vigorous and enthusiastic dancing, the wonderful people of the food committee have always worked very hard to satisfy our appetites. Initially, when we started Navrang, we had the pleasure of being catered by Permila Vekh...aria and then by Visa Oshwal Community of Western Australia. Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Community (SKLPCWA) has done a tremendous job of feeding the audience at HBF arena since the last six years. They have a huge team of about 50 volunteers for each day, who work very hard in ensuring everything runs on time. Before the event each volunteer has to register and go through food and safety training. On the day of the event, about 50 volunteers who work in the catering team start their preparation at 10am in the morning. Everything is made fresh and on site. All volunteer has to wear gloves, hairnet and aprons, to ensure highest standards of hygiene. Do you know we will devour over 100 kgs of potatoes, over 200 samosas and 600 Dabeli rolls for each day? The cooking team will use about 7 drums of 20 Liter oil, about 150 liters of milk and 35 bottles of Rose syrup. Isn’t this amazing? This year due to the limitation of people in the dining area and the time it takes to prepare, Maru bhajiyas have temporarily been taken off the menu. The team want to serve them hot which won’t be possible around space restrictions. But please don’t despair, the food will be served 7pm onwards. The catering team will be ready to serve you all the delicious favorite food items and ensure our stomachs are fed and hearts are happy.
18.01.2022 Jai Ambe to all supporters of Sweet Melodies This has been an unusual year by all standards. As the COVID pandemic gripped the rest of the world, causing im...mense disruption in its wake, it changed the way we think, behave and interact with other people. Here in WA, we have been very lucky to have had a Virus free environment due to the tremendous hard work and efforts of Mark McGown and his team. Our frontline and emergency workers are an example to all for their diligence and dedication under stress. Despite the turmoil facing the world, Sweet Melodies successfully managed to host Navrang 2020, our 10th annual celebration to mark the Navratri festival at HBF Arena in Joondalup. This event was apparently the biggest Navratri hosted in the world this year, with an average attendance of 1000 people per event day. We danced away to pulsating and scintillating music, devoured tasty mouth-watering delicacies, and had fun, frolic, food and festivities with family and friends. Once again, a huge thanks to all the teams and volunteers who made this event truly memorable. Thanks to the success of the Navrang 2020, we managed to raise a sum of $15,835.42, which was predominantly through ticket sales. As always, we were inundated by contributions from many generous donors who have wished to remain anonymous. To ensure that our funds are correctly and efficiently utilized, we donated 5 freezers and 2 stainless steel kitchen benches to The Pantry, which was our chosen charity for this year. In addition, to acknowledge the fabulous efforts of all the volunteers working there, we bought a coffee machine for them to give respite during long days. Furthermore, as an ongoing charity, we are donating food every Ekadashi to the amount of $251.00, benefitting many needy families throughout the year. We have also donated $710 towards Jeev Daya to Vardhaman Sanskar Dhaam, Mumbai, India where volunteers risk their lives to rescue and take care of cows being transported to illegal slaughter houses and towards Birds food (Chakla Nu Chann) which will be purchased and delivered to various towns near Jamnagar (India). Finally, we have also donated to the Shree Jalaram Mandal of WA a sum of $3001.00 towards AV Equipment for their upcoming temple project. We whole heartedly thank each and every one of you for making this event a huge success. Our collective efforts have ensured ongoing help and support to families in need. We at Sweet Melodies believe that each and every one of us has an extra ordinary story to share with the world and learn from others. But more importantly, any amount of time and energy devoted to these worthy causes has a certain magic about them, helping achieve a greater sense of personal satisfaction and growth. This has always been our purpose within Sweet Melodies, Our Dharma. Giving is not about making a donation. It’s about making a difference. So, thanks all for joining in this mission. Let’s send our collective prayers and positivity to people in need to help wash away 2020 and make a fresh start in 2021.
16.01.2022 A wonderful article in the Joondalup-Wanneroo Times/Weekender about the expansion of our free seizure alert bad mat loan program and how the band Sweet Melodies and the Navrang Festival, held at HBF Arena helped to make it happen!

06.01.2022 Jai Ambe All.... Welcome all the supporters of Navrang brought to you by Sweet Melodies. They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with a small step. As we approach our tenth year, we pause and reflect on this exciting adventure so far. We bring you all the behind-the-scenes funny stories, that have helped shape the event over the years. We acknowledge the tremendous hard work and relentless effort of all our teams that have gone into making this a much sought-after ev...ent of the year. This has been a journey full of love and surprise; this is our story so far: Charities: Mother Teresa said Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love. Mahatma Gandhi said The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. Inspired by these thoughts, we decided focus our energies to raise money and contribute to helping those less fortunate members of the society. Over the years we have been lucky that all the team members- from the band to the logistics teams to the volunteers- have all generously donated a huge chunk of their time and hard work into making this event a success. So, in return, we decided to share the balance of the money that was collected after the expenditure to contribute to causes that were close to our heart. Mother Teresa said It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving. Mahatma Gandhi said Generosity consists not the sum given, but the manner in which it is bestowed. We all know that charity begins at home. And it’s not about giving but sharing the love. With that in mind, we have supported various charities with an objective of helping with any necessary equipment. Over the years, we have managed to donate over $114,000 to various causes. To ensure that our earnings are correctly and efficiently utilized, we decided to provide charities in kind. Be it heart defibrillators for the Heart foundation or Wheelchairs for Kids, setting up home equipment for the Leukemia Foundation or epilepsy beds, we have always given in kind. We were truly humbled last year to receive the Prime Minister’s letter acknowledging our efforts. That boosted our resolve to work hard year after year. We thank each and every one of our generous donors who have wished to remain nameless. We thank our participants in ensuring that we have fun along the way. Giving is not about making a donation. It’s about making a difference. Please feel free to Like, Share, Tag, Comment, Repost, Follow. Thanks Navrang Team....
