21.01.2022 For MY super special Dino loving, green obsessed 4yo on his birthday. 3 Dino cakes in a row isn’t easy! This one is based on a @donttellcharles cake from way back! I cheated and used rice paper instead of isomalt though!

20.01.2022 Hello new lovely followers! All because of one lovely lady @saritaholland and THIS cake! Nervously, anxiously, worryingly waiting for the new of what restrictions lay ahead for Melbourne. I have a small range of standard cakes at the ready to launch.... just waiting to hear what’s next for Victoria. A cake ‘range’ isn’t quite what I envisioned for SSxo but for now it’s where we’re at and how I may still be able to spread some happy. Hold tight Melbourne.

20.01.2022 This absolute beauty I made for a friend celebrating her 40th in ISO a few weeks ago. Melbourne, were now in stage 4 restrictions. While I’m not entirely sure (just yet!) if I can travel outside of a 5km radius to deliver cakes, I have made the decision that I won’t. Which also means all cake & cookie orders are officially on hold till we’re out of this mess. Current booked orders I will discuss with each individual person their order and if they can go ahead or not once I know more based on travel distances etc.... please hold tight! Everyone please take care of yourself and your family. It’s been tough and I think it’s about to get tougher. Big virtual hugs.

13.01.2022 I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for the comments and private messages I received after last night late post. So sad for those special events that are still on hold for who knows how long? We’ve had a ‘mindfulness Monday’ here (thanks school for the 4 day week!) and I’m still so angry, still not coming to terms with the unattainable ‘goals’ that have been set. But I’ve cuddled my babies, we’ve eaten ice creams and gone for scooter adventures today. LOTS of v...itamin D! (Phew it’s windy though!) I’m very lucky to have my little family. I truly hope everyone is doing ok.

13.01.2022 How’s everyone feeling today? Honestly? I’m feeling flat. No motivation and my walk today was so slow paced (& it was meant to be run day but I just couldn’t) We’ve now been in lockdown 2.0 for 13 weeks (since July 1st) with the majority of that stage 4 which still seems to have no end date. None. ... Now, on cake orders.... at this stage I have been saying YES to November onward. I may bring that forward, but I feel like from November we should at least have the 5km rule removed? That’s my hope anyway. Around then I’ll also look at releasing Christmas. Take care everyone. Take care.

10.01.2022 I just read the most beautiful words from my customer Elena about her husband, family, friends and this cake! She’s so lovely and I’m lucky she first came to me many cakes ago now! She gives me a vision and leaves me to it. This ones a little different, but I loved making it so much! I feel like our little lives are slowly going back to some kind of normal. The kids start back at swimming lessons today. They haven’t been since March! I’ve tried looking in AirBNB For a vayc...ay after Christmas but seems I’m too late! Everyone’s had the same idea! We thought Coast. But $1k++ per night! What’s everyone’s summer holidays suggestions? We’ve spent far too much time in this house! We need to get away for a few days (& because it’s probably the 2nd time ever my husband is taking time off at Chrissy!) See more

10.01.2022 Here’s a cute lolly unicorn I made for my niece in early August! (How cute is the unicorn set from @laser.kraft ) Just a note to say I won’t be offering custom cakes for the foreseeable future. There is still so much uncertainty around when/IF kids will even go back to onsite learning and I need to be here for them right now. I know I am disappointing a lot of people. I truly am sorry. Everyone deserves a great cake! No doubt. ... I hope when we have a little more certainty around school, increasing our current 5km radius rule and more people being able to go back to work that I can offer a ‘standard cake range’. A standard range has never been what I envisioned for SSxo but 2020 isn’t what anyone envisioned is it! Please stick with me. I really appreciate the support. (Possible fundraiser cake coming up)

09.01.2022 It’s safe to say I still have absolutely no idea what to do about taking orders, not taking orders, what orders? Limits? Deliveries? Pick ups? Etc... At the moment. Hopefully Lachie will be able to go (physically) back to school in term 4 but Abi not so much. Not until at least the end of October and that’s IF covid cases dramatically reduce. And Liam’s now a permanent fixture in the house with no daycare admissions at present, not till 2021 (& lefts not forget we’ve still n...ot been offered a kinder placement) What I’d love to know from you all is: FIRSTLY, how are you? (This has been so incredibly tough. Tougher for me than having a newborn in NICU, going into surgery at 8 days old and unsure if he’d ever have any quality of life. I’ve crumbled. But I’ll keep on keeping on because that’s what we do isn’t it?) SECONDLY, tell me? What would you like to see available and on offer? Hoping I can put some things and ideas together and look to softly open up again come October. What do you think?

07.01.2022 The last time I posted a #cakeguts shot it was for the same little girl! And it then made my ‘top 9’! so here we are again, cake guts. Will this make top 9? 2 mths to see! ... There really is something so satisfying about seeing those perfect layers of cake (thanks @agbayproducts ) and buttercream. Gets me every time!

01.01.2022 It is with tears and regret due to the current stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne, I have decided to close my business for the foreseeable future. There is just too many variances, too many what ifs? Too much uncertainty. My heart and my head keep changing but I think I need to go with my gut this time. ... The sooner people do the right thing the better off we will all be. I feel that cakes aren’t ‘essential’ and if for example Bunnings have to close then perhaps a cake maker should too. I’m so sorry, it hasn’t been an easy decision to make. Thank you for always being so amazing and supportive of my business. If I haven’t yet been in touch I will be soon.
