23.01.2022 It is probably about time I posted. I havent had a lot of words the last couple of weeks which is unusual for me, a few of my photographer friends and other people I follow have summed it up pretty well and Ive enjoyed reading all your posts. My thoughts are with all my clients in Melbourne, past and future, I hope you are all coping ok with the stage 4 restrictions. Thankfully life at the coast has been quiet and uneventful, its been a strange time here, 17 degree days ...quickly followed by snow. The last few weeks have been devastating for all small businesses in Victoria whether affected directly or indirectly and I feel all your pain. To all my couples planning weddings, stay in touch with me. It feels like one step forward two steps back at the moment, but we will get there eventually. Thanks also to everyone who supported me in the break between lockdowns it ended up being a really busy time and I appreciate you all so much. 23.01.2022 One year ago today Laura and Michael held the most gorgeous low key small wedding in a park in Geelong back before small weddings were a thing. (or the only thing!) I edited these few shots in a pub on my way home and they shared them with more guests that night at their ‘engagement party’, surprising everyone with the news. A couple of days later Laura messaged to tell me that her grandfather who had not been at the wedding had passed away and had been able to see the phot...os and share in the joy in his final days. She wrote him getting to experience the wedding through the photos ‘was a gift they would all forever be grateful for.’ Yes photos are a precious gift and I’ll forever be grateful to be a part of beautiful moments like these xx www.sweeterthanhoneyphotography.org

18.01.2022 The last week in July was a week of changing restrictions, with all my family sessions cancelled and incredible sunsets happening nightly I decided to get out for one last shoot. Stage three and mask restrictions came into play just a couple of days later so I knew this would be my last for a while. I grabbed my friends Harmony and Joey and headed to the beach. 15.01.2022 Matt and Sam were married on Saturday in Colac on what had to be one of the most gorgeous days of Autumn. Whilst they were only allowed to have ten guests, they were able to livestream the ceremony to their friends and family who were able to join in from around the country and overseas. Those watching dressed up, posting selfies in the online wedding group chat and it was amazing to see how excited everyone was to be involved in these incredible moments. As the sun went ...down on Matts family farm they had their first dance to a song we played on my phone, as just three of us watched them share these special moments. It was quiet, understated and extra romantic. Congrats Mr. and Mrs Cirillo!

14.01.2022 Ryan pulled off the most incredible surprise proposal to Katherine at the Aire Valley Redwoods on Sunday afternoon. The couple were in Apollo Bay for the long weekend and unknown to Katherine a stunning set up of flowers, candles and jewels awaited her in the forest. It was the most magical of moments and a crowd of passers by gathered to watch Ryan get down on one knee, a cheer going up when she said yes! Congratulations to a gorgeous couple xx . . . 13.01.2022 Ive been meaning to share more of these gorgeous babies for so long. They have the most hilarious parents who I have got to know over a couple of shoots. They decided it would be a good idea to crack open a bottle of wine and toast their new additions on the beach at the end of our photo session. The only problem was it was a windy night in Apollo Bay and balancing two babies, a bottle and a couple of glasses was not the most practical of options! It was definitely a new parents adjusting to a first weekend away with kids moment and I loved it. They look far more peaceful in these shots!

13.01.2022 Jethro + Maddy were married on Saturday at Skenes Creek after a long winter of lockdown in Melbourne. For a while they did not know if they would be able to get over the boundary line to have their wedding here so it was amazing that they were finally able to go ahead with a scaled back version of their original plans. Their wedding became the last one of my cut short season and tomorrow would have been my last if everything had of gone to plan. 04.01.2022 I photographed Mandy + Ben’s wedding in 2019 at Skenes Creek. A few weeks ago they came back with new addition baby Sonny and we spent a Saturday night cruising some different locations along the coast. After a difficult year in Melbourne lockdown they were so glad to breathe in the sea air. We finished off at Petticoat Creek at dusk. Always a great time with these guys...

03.01.2022 W Y E R I V E R One of my favourite places on the coast to shoot and perfect for a small wedding or elopement. If youre thinking of planning something small this Spring or Summer, Wye is a great option. Think hot summer air and dusky pink skies as the sun sets. I love how remote this place is and theres no need for a car, we just usually walk between the beach and the reception venues. You could keep it really low key and have a beach picnic after your ceremony or a s...mall outdoor celebration with a few friends. The next morning this place comes alive like a little pocket of Melbourne with great coffee and breakfast. So many ways to make your small wedding close to perfect and if youre looking for a location Wye River is a great place to start x See more
