05.01.2022 As 2019 nears its end, I declare Sweet Journey Catering & Events officially closed. The business has stopped operating since the birth of my little boy, James in April 2018. Running the business was both challenging and super exciting, but it is no longer possible to do it, under the current model, and in my current capacity as a full-time mum. I had left the business' presence on the internet hanging for so long as I was too busy to think about what to do with it. But I am f...inally in the right frame of mind to make a clear decision. Changes in circumstance inspire changes in priority. There are many mothers out there who successfully juggle multiple roles - mother, career women, etc. I am not one of them. Even though I have a great ability to multi-task in trivial activities (e.g. watching tv + playing on my mobile + snacking + crocheting), when it comes to the big things in life, I can only focus on ONE at a time. People have asked me if I missed running the business. I tell them this: I am not one who misses things. When I am in, I AM IN. Wholeheartedly. And when it is time to move on, I move on. Comfortably. That I am fortunate enough to have an equally, if not more fulfilling role to play, is something I am thankful for. Speaking of thanks, I am grateful to my husband, David, without whom, the business would not have been possible. I am also greatly appreciative to all my clients whose continual patronage kept it running and flourishing till the very end. And finally, but no less importantly, all of you who are reading this - family, friends, fb friends, strangers. Your support in spreading word-of-mouth, encouragement, and online activities (fb likes/comments/shares, etc.) sailed with me in good times and in bad. Life is a Sweet Journey, and now it is time I live mine. I shall bid you all farewell with one of my favourite quotes: "The greater the effort, the sweeter the reward", along with a clip of little Cheeky Chubby who epitomises the said quote.
