24.01.2022 Update: thank you all so much for the amazing response. Looks like we are all sorted in the short term. Thank you so much URGENT URGENT CALL FOR HELP We are seeking urgent assistance in the rescue of six dogs who have been left at a property for the past week. The owner is experiencing mental health issues and legal matters, and can not go back to the property. ... A kind community member has been feeding the dogs and checking on them daily, but they are free roaming and are often out on the road. We will be collecting them TODAY but have no actual enclosures to house them in. We are seeking URGENT LOCAL SHORT TERM FOSTER HOMES for them. There are two Mastiff X doggies - Alfie & Shelby - one, an adult male and the other, a five month old female. And four small Foxie X types - Salem, Diva, Charlie & Gus - Mum and her three pups. We are told that they are all lovely dogs with nice temperaments. We are hoping to have space at Sweet Pea in the next couple of weeks, so they will only require short-term foster care. If you are able to offer assistance, PLEASE MESSAGE ASAP VIA FACEBOOK MESSENGER ONLY. Thank you

19.01.2022 Donatello and Raphael (Donny & Rapha) These two gorgeous brothers have been in our care since March 2017, when they and the rest of their siblings were found in a box at a truck stop when they were only 8 weeks old! Four of the siblings were quickly adopted, but for reasons inexplicable, these two precious boys were not, and have spent their entire lives so far in care.... A huge part of Donny and Rapha’s lives have been spent in the care of one of our amazing foster carers. During this time, the boys have received exceptional care and love which is truly evident in their receptive and sweet natures! Although they have been treated like royalty they have definitely lived a very quiet life and have become accustomed and comfortable in what they know. They have been somewhat sheltered- they have not been around many people or been exposed to a lot of socialisation. Recently we made the decision to bring the boys back to Sweet Pea, allowing them to experience more people, more sounds, more smells, and ultimately give them the best chance to find their forever home! During the time they’ve been at Sweet Pea they have already come out of their shells in leaps and bounds! (especially Donny, who is the more timid of the two) These two have been absolutely lapping up the affection and attention of our volunteer team and have become more and more confident with each passing day! Raphael is a very handsome, gentle, affectionate and inquisitive cat! He loves to roll around on his back and show off his belly for a rub, he will push himself around on you to ask for some love, or just sit close and enjoy your company. Donatello is also a very affectionate and gentle cat, although he can take just a little longer to get to know you, he has so much love to give! He loves sitting real close and watching the world go by. He loves having his little chin scratched and pushes his head into your hand to hit the spot! Both boys are exceptionally handsome, sweet, friendly and very, very charming!! They both have strong, loud purrs to tell you when they’re most happy. They make it incredibly easy to fall in love with them Since they have been waiting together for so long in care, we feel they deserve to be adopted together too. A quiet, calming and patient home would be ideal. If you feel you could be the right fit for these special brothers, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire on our website: https://www.sweetpeaanimalhospital.com.au/cat-adoption-form Thank you Rehoming Organisation Number: R251000082

12.01.2022 SWEET, SWEET, S O X Sox arrived into our care yesterday and today she is lighting up our lives!! Sox is truly one of the sweetest, happiest, well behaved, and social doggies ever to grace our rescue organisation!... I feel that it is worth mentioning the stigma attached to a dog on a chain and pigging dogs. Both of which Sox was. This girl does not have an anxious, nervous, fearful bone in her body. She is so well adjusted. So even tempered. Happy & social. Her owner did not need to put a lead on her when I met her at Taree Service Centre, she has good recall, she is a very healthy weight and her teeth are amazingly clean, she sits and waits for her food, she is affectionate & playful, she is non-reactive, she is good with children, chickens, goats, sheep, cattle & horses (probably not so good with pigs), she doesn’t bark, she doesn’t tear up her bedding, she is gentle, she is patient, she is toilet trained. She is, so far, perfect!! We are so grateful for the opportunity to know this girl. Sox We hope you enjoy watching her play with Lola & Charlie, two of our other precious rescue doggies!

09.01.2022 F O U N D Juvenile King Parrot found on Amaroo Drive, Smiths Lake on Tuesday, 17 November. She certainly appears to be tame and has an old fracture to her right wing, so cannot be released. She is underweight, so may have been out fending for herself for some weeks. ... She is a lovely little parrot, who we have named Peach, as she loooves peaches . We are hoping that she may have a loving home and someone who is missing her, although we’ve not seen anything on social media. PLEASE SHARE her post in the hope that we can locate her owners. Thank you

08.01.2022 LOST. LOST. LOST. LOST. LOST. LOST. This is Ponga. He has been missing from his home on Chapman Road, Tuncurry since 6:30am on Sunday 8th November. ... Please keep an eye out for him and please let us know if you have seen or heard anything. PLEASE SHARE his post to help get word out of his disappearance. Thank you

08.01.2022 RESCUE KITTIES NEEDING LOVE We received a litter of 4 kittens approximately four weeks ago. They were found on a farm and brought to us. They were all very timid and very frightened. In their time with us, they have made great progress. The little ginger boy, Pounce, has done so well and we feel certain that he can be successfully rehomed! And can live a happy fear-free life! ... But his three little black siblings, Cloudjumper, Dart, & Flystorm are taking longer to come around. We are starting to worry that it may be too late for these little ones to adjust to human company and overcome their fears. So............... We are looking for 3 dedicated carers to take on one of these kittens each. The carers will need to have ample time to spend with the kitten, conditioning it to human contact. The carers home will need to be quiet, calm and safe. No boisterous human or K9 activity. Ideally, the carers will have some kitty cat experience. Sweet Pea will provide food, litter, bedding & Feliway to assist. The carers will also need to understand and accept that this may not be successful and we may not be able to turn things around for these frightened little kittens! If this is something that you are willing to commit to, as outlined above, then PLEASE EMAIL us at: [email protected]. Thank you

04.01.2022 So, this happened today! Meet Sox The gorgeous girl that so many of you saw on Buy, Swap, Sell. Today, thanks to the efforts of a good friend of ours, we picked her up and she is now in our care and awaiting a health check, desexing, vaccination, flea, tick & worming treatment. She is a beautiful, healthy, happy and confident dog. We already adore her! She will now spend a few days in our care before going to her foster home ... Thank you to everyone who wanted to help this girl. However, after meeting her owner today, I can safely say that she is a loved house dog, who knows the feeling of snuggling on the couch. We will keep you posted with updates. #whynotadopt #rescueismyfavouritebreed #rescuedog #rescuedogsofinstagram #catahoula #bullterrier ##staghound See more
