21.01.2022 And hasn't this been a year of plot twists!!! With Cairns Cup dates announced, I'm working out how Sweetpea will be able to re-open for August for my local Cairns clients. Thankyou to everyone whose gotten in touch to show their support . I had effectively closed down the business temporarily and moved most of my product into storage... but I'd already created a most beautiful collection of designs for hire and sale. ... Most likely I'll be able to establish a small showroom at my home studio space in Kanimbla. Stay tuned for more info about how to book appointments. 06.01.2022 I've titled this collection "Peach Bellini".... because... well, you'll see. The pieces are made from an opal polymer clay that has iridescent flecks through it... fun!! You can see that I've had fun with shapes and compositions, and I'm really happy to be releasing this collection when my website goes live at www.kitandco.com tonight at 7pm. 06.01.2022 This was a piece I made that almost didn't get released let alone photographed. I was happily experimenting, but thought this style would be too 'out there', but on the day of the photoshoot in 2019, I showed it to the models and makeup artists, and they LOVED it. It's now one of my favourite pieces, and I particularly love this happy image of @mrsmaddiwright laughing out loud! Hope it brings a smile to you today xxx Cat

04.01.2022 Introducing Kit & Co. Back in March, just as I was preparing my millinery collection, and ready to hire my first part-time employee, along came... well, we all know what happened. Like most of you my world was rocked, and I found myself at home with my three kids and essentially out of work. The millinery business I had poured myself into for the last seven years was 'on ice'. ... I had a beautiful collection of crowns and fascinators ready to be shared, but honestly have to admit I didn't even have the heart to photograph the pieces... I just couldn't face it, when I knew that people all over the world were struggling to come to terms with the co-vid pandemic. My head space just wasn't right. But for me, the opportunity and time to create is essential. And in time, I began experimenting and playing with jewellery design (something I'd always wanted to do, but never had time.) I particularly fell in love with the tactile nature of polymer clay, and the design and creation of earrings. After a lot of practice, and many failures, today, for the first time I am releasing my first range and the new brand Kit and Co. to the world. I hope my creations spark joy in you.
