05.01.2022 A big change in Canada study permit for international students The immigration, refugee, and citizenship Canada (IRCC), Minister of Immigration, the Honourable Marco E.L. Mendicino has just announced a big change in Canada study permit for international students. According to the new changes, the IRCC is introducing a temporary two-stage approval process:... Approval-in-principal stage: it includes showing that they have been accepted at a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI), have sufficient available funds, and are otherwise eligible for the study permit. If applicants satisfy these requirements, they will be notified of a first-step approval. Once the approval-in-principle is issued, applicants can begin studying online abroad and the time they spent studying online will be counted toward their post-graduate work permit, provided that they meet other criteria and that they eventually receive full approval of their study permit. Final approval: Applicants will receive final approval once they have met all eligibility and admissibility requirements including submitting biometrics, medical exam, and police certificates.
