25.01.2022 Round 8 has shown how Swifties can dig in and grind out wins. With personnel shortages we had to call on our players to step and cover the holes in the higher divisions. We had three wins Saturday and have all remained onto top of the respective ladders, and will now be focused on retaining our No. 1 spots. Div 1 have a couple of testing weeks coming up taking on 2nd and 3rd placed Algester and Salisbury.... Div 2 have finally locked in their spot in the finals in September with a 2 shot win over the very handy Graceville, who gave us a lesson on there home ground earlier in the season. Our Opens are back in the winners circle and with one more game in hand have a +48 shot differential over second place. Div 1 are at home, while Div 2 and Opens will be at United Bowls Club Saturday the 24th. Get on down this Saturday and cheers on the teams. Bring a mate and Go the Bluebirds!!!!!
24.01.2022 The last bowl has been thrown and the eventual winners were Graeme Hoopers team, 2nd was Zac Adams team, 3rd to Jason Grundons team, 4th to David Bowles in the Rytal team and 5th to Mark Chooky Vogler and the Paradise Point team.. last round winners were the comeback kings skipped by Stephen Merrell... well done to all winners and thanks to all bowlers for travelling here and supporting Booval Swifts... thanks to all the volunteers who helped over the weekend.. We couldnt have done it without you..
24.01.2022 Round 7 wrap up - Open had their first loss for the season, going down by 5 shots to second place Algester. They still remain atop the ladder on margins, a win against Lowood next week will secure them a semi finals berth come September. Wins by Div 1 and Div 2 this weekend over Jindalee and Algester keep these two teams atop the ladders. Div 1 also only require one more win to secure a spot come September.... Congratulations go out to Glen Pitts who has claimed the CDBA Champion of Champions Singles title for 2019. He will play Jake Rynne from North Toowoomba on the 18th of August at Algester for the Zone 2 playoff.
24.01.2022 Our third game was live steamed down at the state finals. Unfortunately the game against Tweed Saturday afternoon wasn't the best performance of the year. But congratulations to the Div 1 boys for their 4th consecutive flag and also taking our the zone 2 title for 2019. Big year for the blue birds all around.

Weve had a delay with our shop front - but dont panic we are trying our best to get it resolved ASAP....we are feeling just as frustrated as Im sure you guys are! Clint left at 4am this morning to hit the road and collect produce from our farmers in the Gatton and Lockyer Valley areas today and then off to Caboolture, Beerwah, Wamuran after lunch for some more collections. "At the end of year District Council Meeting held earlier this evening Mitch Mears of Algester and Brenda Thompson of Swifts were awarded the Men’s and Ladies Player of the Year Awards. For Mitch this is his second consecutive Player of the Year award having received this coveted trophy previously in 2018..... Brenda Thompson 168 points... Australian Open- Singles quarter finalist, round of 32 in the 4’s and runner up in the over 60’s pairs State Championships-Semi finalist in the 4’s, Round of 16 in the singles and winner of the over 60’s pairs. Champion of Club Champions- Winner of all disciplines, singles, pairs and fours at Swifts. Went on to represent at the District CoCC finishing as quarter finalist in pairs, semi finalist in singles and runner up in the fours. Cunningham District congratulate both Mitch and Brenda on their successful 2019 and their well deserved awards."

10.01.2022 Pennant Round 9 Div 1 have secured their spot in the final with a win over Algester. They will be playing Salisbury this Saturday, this is a bit of a training run as the finalists have been decided. Div 2 were not able to lock away no 1 spot last week, going down by 5 shots to cross town rivals United. It's a must win against Weller's Hill this Saturday to guarantee a GF appearance,... Open have the bye this week and will face either Rathdowney - Boonah or Weller's Hill in their Semi-Final on the 7th.

02.01.2022 I am one of the coordinators of the lawn bowls event at the Qld Police and Emergency Services Games which is being held at Manly Bowls Club from 8-13 October. I... am attempting to locate bowlers who are eligible to play in these games. For bowlers to play in these games, they have to a current member of the following agencies Queensland Police Service Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Queensland Ambulance Service Inspector-General Emergency Management Queensland Corrective Services Australian Federal Police Australian Border Force Crime and Corruption Commission Surf Life Saving Queensland Australian Red Cross (Qld Branch) Marine Safety Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Volunteer Marine Rescue Association Queensland Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission Public Safety Business Agency. Members of the above agencies who have retired or resigned after at least 10 years service can also register for the lawn bowls events. Immediate family members can also register for the events. Volunteers can also register. Apart from the Police Bowls Club and the Qld Fire Fighters Social Bowls Club, I am also wondering if there are social bowling groups/clubs involved with any of the other agencies.
