18.01.2022 Here is the news you've all been waiting for!!!!

16.01.2022 As you may be aware, the funeral details for Anthony James Johnstone have been released. However, due to the chosen location, Leichhardt Baptist Church (which h...as a max capacity for only 50 people), this service can not accommodate the sheer number of those wanting to farewell him. I understand the impact he had upon the greater community and because of this a memorial, that will allow for all to pay their respects, will be held in his honour. I ask you to join myself at the Ipswich Turf Club on Friday the 19th of January. To celebrate my dads life and give the legendary AJ the send off he deserves. Further details will be updated within the week. Please contact myself if you would like to specifically contribute to the day.

01.01.2022 ANTHONY JOHNSTONE It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we inform you that Anthony Johnstone - our Brisbane, Ipswich, Tasmania and Melbourne LMS manager... - tragically passed away on New Years Day. Anthony was one of the most popular players and managers in LMS and he is going to be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. AJ, as he was affectionately known, had an infectious personality and a superb sense of humour. He had a heart of gold and always went the extra mile for LMS players in his leagues who fell on hard times. AJ became involved in LMS in 2009 in his home town of Ipswich (QLD) when LMS was starting out in Australia, and he expanded the competition widely in Brisbane, Melbourne and Tasmania over the following years. AJ has added so much value to the LMS community where he has hundreds of mates across the world (having played LMS in Australia, England, Bali, South Africa and Barbados) and he will leave a massive void. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten! AJ leaves behind three beautiful daughters whom he loved and cherished beyond all else. Our sympathies and thoughts are with them today, and will remain so in the coming weeks, months and years. If you have concerns about anyone you know personally, or are having difficulties yourself, please visit www.lifeline.org.au or call 13 11 14.
