25.01.2022 Good morning all, Unfortunately the power is out in the area around Swimskool so we won't be able to open at 6am like usual and won't be able to open at all until the power is back on. We won't know how long this will take so please phone Viv on 0438 608 651 before heading down. Sorry for any inconvenience, Swimskool staff

25.01.2022 WE ARE BACK! Hope to see you all this week and next for the last week of term. Viv

24.01.2022 TO THE WHOLE SWIMSKOOL FAMILY - LAP SWIMMERS, AQUAEROBICS FOLKS, HYDROTHERAPY PEOPLE, CLUB SWIMMERS, AND SWIMMING LESSONS FAMILIES I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I'M WRITING THIS AGAIN!!!! It is with a heavy heart that I announce that for at least the next two weeks, Swimskool has to mandatorily close down due to the State Government's decree. As of 12 midnight tonight, all gyms, recreation centres etc etc have to close for two weeks, unless or until we are advised otherwise.... Please be assured for the holders of our lap swimming and aquaerobics cards, that they will still be good when we can re-open. For the families who have paid all of the swim lessons for the term, as per usual, if we can't offer catch ups (and that is highly unlikely at this stage), I will give credits to next term (as I did when we came back from the first lockdown). For the families who haven't paid their term fees, I will be contacting them to request they pay up to and including today - there are still bills that need to be paid, even in lockdown. When we come back, I ask that any lessons outstanding be paid for as you go - I know this is a nuisance, but it is the easiest way of doing things. As I know more information, I will update you on this site. Please pray that this outbreak is quickly contained. Stay well and safe and hope to see you very soon. God bless you all, Vivienne

23.01.2022 SWIM FEES AND REBOOKING If you haven't already paid your fees for Term 3, please finalise them this coming week - Week 7 - this term is going to be tight and I can't carry any outstanding fees over until next term. Just a reminder of my bank details if you wish to pay online: BSB 065 504... ACC NO 1031 2951 NAME Vivienne Peate AMOUNT: REF: (Child's surname, initial) Rebooking for Term 4 is now open. As always, the children who are in the current term having lessons get 'first bite of the cherry'. Please come and see me if you do want a place for next term - it takes only a matter of a few seconds to request rebooking - a little longer if you need to change days/times. Alternatively. if you wish to go on the waiting list for a later term (eg. T1/2021), then please also let me know that. We open the enrolments to the waiting list as soon as the term ends. Many thanks for your co-operation. Vivienne

23.01.2022 SATURDAY MORNING LAP SWIMMING For the hardy lap swimmers, I will open for lap swimming tomorrow morning (12/09) - 7am - 10am. Regards,... Vivienne

22.01.2022 A REMINDER!!! Term 4 starts on Monday, 12th October 2020. We still have some spots available for lessons. If you were booked in last term, but haven't rebooked for Term 4 and still want a spot for your child/ren, please call us ASAP.... To all of the parents of last term's swimmers, please accept my very great thanks for paying your fees so promptly so that I didn't have to chase you - after the 3 1/2 month shut down, it was essential that fees were paid so that Swimskool could get back on its feet. I was able to catch up on most of the outstanding bills (like most of the small businesses in town), but still have to catch up a couple of the bigger bills, so please continue the good work. Since we had that big break during the year, Swimskool won't have its usual shutdown in Dec/Jan this year and next. We will be open for lap swimming, aquaerobics, hydrotherapy and club swimming. We are thinking of offering one-on-one classes in January 2021 for anyone interested. I've already sounded out some of my staff and they are keen to take it up. Please come and see me to express your interest. I will put out a newsletter a bit later in the term with any further information. We look forward to welcoming our 'old' families back and our 'newbie' families. We hope that Term 4 will be a fun, positive time for all involved. Vivienne Swimskool Mount Gambier P.S. If anyone has been trying to contact me via email, I have to apologise for not getting back to you! Both my personal AND Swimskool's emails were hacked a couple of weeks ago and I still can't get them back up and running. Please ring me on 8723 2460 if you need to speak to me. Viv I

18.01.2022 SHUTDOWN STATUS This is to apologise to everyone who has rung, emailed or facebooked for not getting back to them. I'm afraid that I felt so defeated that I went into hybernation for the last week and a bit. To bring you up to date:... . we went into shutdown since close of business on Monday, 16th November 2020 for 2 weeks. This was SA Government mandated and I had no choice. The pool was totally shutdown. . then, of course, the whole state was locked down for (initally) 6 days, but only ended up to be 3 days (and don't get me started on THAT issue). We were then allowed to open for lap swimming and hydrotherapy ONLY. I'm apologise to the lap swimming community, but unfortunately lap swimming and hydro wouldn't even cover the cost of heating, turning the pumps over and chemically treating the pool, let alone any other expenses such as wages - it just isn't financially viable. . the latest advising I have is from ascta (our professional body) dated 12.01 am 22 November 2020 which advises that ... . learn to swim; . community sport training (Club) ; . competitions; . recreational pool play (which we don't have anyway); and, . pool parties ARE NOT PERMITTED ACTIVITIES. God willing, and no further upsets, we are scheduled to reopen for all activities on TUESDAY, 1ST DECEMBER 2020. I will try to get back to everyone who rang, facebooked etc over the next few days to apologise personally. May the Lord bless you all! Vivienne

16.01.2022 NEWSLETTER FOR TERM 4, 2020 is now available. Please take a few moments to read! As always, it is a bit late to welcome people back to the new term, but I do both our ‘old’ families and our ‘newbies’. I don’t know about you, but I can’t WAIT for 2020 to be finished. I was sooo looking forward to it the date just rolled off the tongue, but never mind, hopefully we all get through it and can move forward. SOME HOUSEKEEPING ISSUES ...Continue reading

14.01.2022 WE ARE BACK! for all activities. Hope to see our whole Swimskool family back for the last two weeks of Term 4 for swimming lessons and lap swimming, aquaerobics and hydrotherapy friends until the end of the year. BECAUSE we had our shutdown during the year, and also because the aquatic centre is (for obvious reasons) closed down, Swimskool will remain open for most of the holidays for lap swimming and aquaerobics. We will close after lap swimming on THURSDAY, 24th December 2...020 and re-open on Tuesday, 29th December 2020. Then we will be closed for New Year's Day. After that, we will have all of the usual opening times PLUS some extra time, especially during the afternoon. I haven't yet decided what those hours will be - 2 weeks out of the term has kind of knocked the planning around a bit - but will firm them up in the next week or so. We are still looking to running lessons during January 2021 - whether they're classes or one-on-ones has yet to be decided. We are still thinking of doing a fun session once a week, probably on a Thursday after lap swimming has finished. These will be mini-olympics, games, races with fruit and juice provided. If you're interested, please see me in the office. The cost of all these sessions will depend, of course, on the numbers - the greater the numbers enrolled, the cheaper it will be. More on these a little later. It has been a joy to welcome people back this morning - looking forward to seeing you all in the coming week and 5 days. Vivienne

10.01.2022 TO THE WHOLE SWIMSKOOL FAMILY (Lap swimmers, hydro, aquaerobics and lessons) We have only just had the gas restored this afternoon, about half an hour ago. As a consequence, the pool has lost quite a bit of heat. We have bumped the pool heater up to bring it up as fast as possible, but the pool won't be warm enough for any of Monday's activities. Please accept my apologies. As always, if we can't make up lessons this term, and you've paid for the full term, we will give ...you credits towards Term 4. Regards, Vivienne (I'm going home to have the longest, deepest bath I can - 4 days of no proper ablutions and I feel like a grub!) Viv

08.01.2022 TO SATURDAY MORNING CLASSES - WATERBABIES AND GUPPIES TO NAVY SEALS - CLASSES CANCELLED Please note that, due to the gas having NOT been reconnected, the pool is running a bit cold, and so I have taken the decision to cancel all Saturday classes. Please accept my apologies. Vivienne Peate... Swimskool Mount Gambier See more
