23.01.2022 Age is just a number. It’s all a mindset.

21.01.2022 We’ll be back More than ever we are been tried and tested. With the governments road map to recovery, we can see that should Victorian’s stay the course, tha...t public swimming could soon be part of our daily lives and within months, all going well, a return to squad training. It has been a year of constant challenges for everybody. We will all emerge from this with a new perspective and a new appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy. Winners have an adaptive mind set and winning point of difference. This current pandemic will test each of us to adapt very quickly. The pandemic will define us individually and as a group and nation. - Bill Sweetenham I personally am looking forward to being able to see you all again. It is likely that when we do restart that it may not be in the format we are used to, but I can tell you that we will be restarting as soon as possible and it’s going to be awesome!!!! I’ll keep you all posted!

10.01.2022 Here’s a great speech from coach Melanie Marshall - particularly she pays attention to the need for appropriate recovery. As I always say, copy what the best are doing and you’re heading in the right direction. https://www.youtube.com/watch

08.01.2022 One of the worlds most promising swimmers, Rikako Ikee, was diagnosed with leukaemia two years ago. Treatment was hugely challenging and it was never certain she would return to the sport. A few weeks ago I posted a Tokyo + 1 video where Rikako Ikee walked into the Tokyo Olympic Stadium carrying the Olympic Flame, as a beacon of hope to the world. This weekend she competed for the first time in nearly two years and her outpouring of emotion is clear to be seen. ... I’m sure when we can we will all feel a huge sense of relief when we too are able to return to the water. https://swimswam.com/rikako-ikees-eomitional-race-reaction/
