22.01.2022 Meet The Squad -Liz Liz started out in the swimming world as a breaststroker, but soon joined @clo_itzstein and made the move over to the dark and crazy side of open water swimming. As well competing at a National Level in the 5km swim, Liz has also taken on the Rottnest Channel Swim solo where she took out the womens race, and a number of team swims with pals. ... Spent a bit of time dabbling in triathlons before jumping head first into the world of CrossFit, enjoying the variety, the lack of a black line to follow and figuring out how to do things on dry land. You can only guess that squads with Liz are gonna be a fun time #swimwod #meetthesquad

21.01.2022 Swimming in Waves With beaches reopening around the country, for the avid swimmer this is your only option to take the plunge at the moment. But swimming in waves like this is a challenge regardless of your swimming ability. So here is a couple of tips to tackle the big blue on a day like this. ... - If youre not confident swimming 800m or more with minimal rest, today is probably not your day. If you are, congrats! Continue reading! - Accept the fact that all rhythm in your stroke will be out the window. Ride the waves and move with the water. - Relax. Dont fight the water, your going to make the swim wayyy harder then it needs to be. - Breathe alway from the waves. I hope you have practiced your bilateral breathing because if your a one side breather, your going to be very well hydrated by the end of the swim. - If youre swimming into the waves, shorten your stroke a little to cut into the waves, if swimming with them, stretch it out and ride those waves #SwimWod

21.01.2022 If you ain't gliding you're going too slow! The breaststroke glide is the point in the stroke where you are most streamlined and therefore moving through the water the fastest. We could only hope that before this glide you had a nice powerful stroke to propel you forwards. If you're lacking that power, hit us up and we will help you find it! #swimwod #swimstrong

18.01.2022 Meet The Squad - Coach Gaz! Coach Gaz is more like a mentor on the SwimWod team, the father figure to get help you get by (literally, hes Chlos dad). If you see Gaz at a seminar or workshop you can breathe easy knowing if youre a straggler hes got your back. Known in the Iroman world for adopting a lost sole, tucking them under his wing mid-race and just gently guiding towards to the finish is one of the things we love about Coach Gaz.... With numerous Rotto Crossings (solos and teams), 30+ Ironman 70.3s and a number of Ironman 140.6s under his belt that and all the shorter stuff in there to, the man is a wealth of knowledge and experience. No better coach to have on your side #coachgaz #swimwod

14.01.2022 Meet the Squad! Chloë, owner of SwimWod, spent many years lapping it up and down in the pool to realise that the 1500m was not long enough for her and moved into the Open Water Series (10km) as her primary race. .... Racing at a national level and a solo Rottnest Channel Swim crossing at age 18 taught her more then to turn her arms over and kick her legs fast, but also about commitment, hard work and the intense organisation she takes into day to day life now. . Chloë started SwimWod to help adults who may not have spent as much time in the pool find their gills and use swimming as a tool for cross training, mobility and recovery. Hit us up if you want to get in the swim and get some help from Coach Chlo! #swimwod #meetthesquad @theleonglens
