25.01.2022 Bärg-Röseli members are active @Home, happy to share their latest production. With the present Covid situation we will probably not rehearse in person for several more months, but we can still be creative. To create this video, each performer went through the challenge of recording themself on a mobile phone while listening to the sound track by Willy and Gabriella. For their singing, the sound and the video were recorded separately for the best quality before being synchron...ised in the edit process. A great effort and steep learning curve worth mentioning. Our Consul General Bernadette Hunkeler Brown has already found our Bärg-Röseli video on it: "...just listened to the Choir from Brisbane they did a real good job!! ... Congratulations well done!... Happy 1st of August, Bernadette" All SSQ Members are invited to post photos and videos tomorrow. Australia is one of the first countries to celebrate National Day.

15.01.2022 The Swiss Camping Weekend got upgraded to a hiking challenge for ten members thanks to our enthusiastic bushwalker Peter. Seven hours of walk in the Steamer Range along the North side of the Saddle, the Mast and then up the Stern 1075m to look back to the Range towards the East.

11.01.2022 Who will take up this opportunity from Barbara ? Mum played the button accordion for the German Singing Group on the Sunshine Coast. At age 86 she has decided to retire. We are helping Mutti sell her button accordion. It was purchased brand new just 10 years ago. It is in excellent condition, stored correctly and well maintained. It plays beautiful music.... The accordion comes with a solid carry case, leather straps and accordion music sheets in German and English. See more

09.01.2022 This is a feel good story for your Sunday. John Pascoe is in his 70s and dressed as Elvis and performed five songs at his St Martin's Residential Aged Care home on Friday. Anglicare Southern Queensland made this all happen. John hasn't sung in front of a crowd since he was 18 and said he wanted to put a smile on people's faces during this very tough and uncertain time. 06.01.2022 Today’s challenge was all about the hills rather than the wet weather. The 11km, 2.5 hours hike around the lake has several steep climbs adding to some 70 floors or 200 meters. A good idea to come alone to fully enjoy the wonderful bird life including bell birds. [email protected]
