20.01.2022 We’ve made the tough decision to suspend our weekly classes in an attempt to keep our dancer, our team, and the wider community as safe as possible. We will keep you updated with further plans, & our return date. We sincerely hope this will be sooner rather than later. 18.01.2022 Next up - THANK YOU to all the incredible volunteers who gave up their time on show day to help us run a smooth and fun event. We had over 20 generous souls who decided to Switch it up on a Sunday and help with set up, pack down, costumes, make up, crowd control, admin, and general much-needed support. They came from all over Sydney and with a whole range of skills. They handled everything with such warmth and patience, even when thrown in the deep end. You know who you are. All you need is some enthusiasm, and a willingness to encourage our kids, teens, and adults as they dance the night away! No experience necessary. Some of our volunteers are professional dancers, while others are absolute beginners. Some have worked in disability services, while others have not. Some like to be in the thick... of every activity, while others are more helpful on the sidelines. Whatever your experience, you could be a valuable member of our team. Would you like to make new friends, make a difference in the arts, and make an impact on some very special lives? Switch Dance Community is looking for volunteers to attend our weekly classes in Waverley for people with disabilities. All you need is some enthusiasm, and a willingness to encourage our kids, teens, and adults as they dance the night away. As a Switch volunteer, you'll be participating in our fun, simple dance classes and supporting our students as they do the same. This may involve: holding somebody's hand, dancing beside them as you learn together, explaining what's happening so students feel safe and included, helping us move into different formations, and generally sharing your positive energy! No experience necessary. Some of our volunteers are professional dancers, while others are absolute beginners. Some have worked in disability services, while others have not. Some like to be in the thick of every activity, while others are more helpful on the sidelines. Whatever your experience, you could be a valuable member of our team.
