20.05.2022 LOVE We need relationships to expand our horizons, to challenge us, to keep us grounded and connected, as in loving someone else, we learn to love ourselves more through this intimate bond. Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread bu...t eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow. Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet See more

11.05.2022 Showing up for your own life Some Day .......... Some day, when my ship comes in ...... Some day, when I have the money ........ Some day, when I have the time ......... Some day, when I have the skill, the confidence ....... Here is some shocking news: Your ships not coming - its already here. Docked and waiting. You already have the time. You already have the money. You already have the skills, and the confidence. And nobody is "lucky"- Luck is preparedness that eventually creates opportunity (Jeff Olsen) Harnessing the Power of Habit "lucky" people are the one's that realize the power of HABITS. There are two kinds of habits - those that serve you and those that don't.

09.05.2022 Nelson Mandela said - Once a person is determined to help themselves, there is nothing that can stop them. Today I will believe that all is well. I am being led, but I am only being led one day at a time. I will focus my energy on living this day to the best of my ability. If panic arises, I will stop and deal with panic as a separate issue to my life. Take a risk, Take a chance. Today I will let go of my fear of failure. I will let go of my fear of success. I will let go of my fear of fully living my life, so that I may experience all parts of this journey.

04.05.2022 Spring is in the air. Summer is around the corner. What action can be taken this year regarding our health, nutrition and fitness that won't evaporate into thin air the moment our willpower starts to wane. Creating a healthy mind, body and life, has nothing to do with willpower and everything to do with choice. As each new day begins, the one thing that is always in our power, is the freedom to choose. Sure, what we put into our mouths, the thoughts we think, and the amo...unt of time we allocate to moving and nurturing our bodies, has most likely become habitual, but that does not make us helpless victims. It does though, take some semblance of courage and honesty to say, "I no longer choose to embark on any more quick fixing, low calorie, no fat, no whatever diet or punishing regime so that I can jump on a scale and pray that the needle has gone left and not right". If you have been on a diet and "lost weight" and are thinking of going back on that diet, ask yourself this question - if the diet really worked, then why am I back at square one"? If you gained back the weight - the diet failed, not you. According to David Gillespie (Eat Real Food), don't embark on any eating regime if you don't understand how your body works. Make a decision to get off the weight loss/weight gain merry go round right now. See more

25.04.2022 Are you addicted to weighing yourself? Sure, if you've gained 20 kg this year (or more) its helpful to know by weighing yourself as a wake up call now and then (not more than once a month, even that is excessive), but are you addicted to this soul destroying and rather pointless behaviour? I call it a learned behaviour which has become a habit - if the scale goes up I'm miserable and if the scale goes down I'm happy. Its a shit way to live so stop doing it. Rather spend your energy on shopping for fresh produce and enjoy eating small quantities of energy making fuel (food) so that you can step out your front door to exercise instead of stepping onto a scale.

21.04.2022 Just before you talk yourself out of doing some exercise or just before you reach for that doughnut, stop and notice both what your thoughts are and if they sound like the same old same old. Remember - nothing changes if nothing changes. By addressing the negative and unhelpful thoughts that provoke behaviour, frees us up to make different choices that can bring us closer to the changes we would like to see in our lives. Strategies and skills can be developed to address habi...tual thoughts by challenging and reconstructing our belief system. This really helps to reduce impulsive behaviour by finding less reactive and more productive responses. They are only thoughts, we can change them.
