01.01.2022 ARTS RECOVERY FUND Fast tracking recovery and reimagining South Australia’s arts and culture sector On 24 September 2020, Premier Steven Marshall announced ...a $10.2 million funding package to create jobs and fast-track recovery in South Australia’s arts and culture sector. These times call for new thinking, new ways of working, and new ways of engaging. The Fund is a new initiative to support recovery and reimagining in South Australia’s arts and culture sector. It has a specific focus on creating employment for professional practicing artists through: collaboration and partnerships: between artists and arts organisations to foster the evolution of arts practice in a COVID-safe environment theatre and festival re-opening: by supporting the creation, development and presentation of work in a COVID-safe environment digital innovation: by supporting the development and curation of new digital content, building sector skills and capability, and investing in technology and digital expertise. Arts South Australia aims to fund activity that addresses one or more of these focus areas. Applications will open on 1 October 2020 for activities beginning December 2020, and on 1 March 2021 for activities beginning May 2021. Grants of up to $20 000 are available for individuals. Grants of up to $100 000 are available for groups and organisations, where the primary beneficiaries are professional practicing artists. Priority will be given to activity that would not proceed without government investment, leverages other financial and in-kind contributions, and helps to address the financial implications of constraints caused by COVID-19 restrictions.
