21.01.2022 We had the best time ever with these two and all of the incredible people who bring our shows together. Thank you Jane Rutter and Giuseppe Zangari - Classical Guitarist for providing two outstanding performance masterclass opportunities for our students and community, and an unforgettable show on Saturday night <3 Huge thanks also to our host and the incredible staff at Deniliquin RSL Club, sound guru @Shane McGrath and his trusty assistant @Tomoko Niwa and the Live Music Committee volunteers, headed by our Chief, @Helen Burnham, who make our concerts possible.
20.01.2022 Super exciting news Friends - South West Music is thrilled to welcome drum teacher, Michael Ladson, to the team! Michael has been playing drums in and around the Deniliquin area for over 25 years. Starting with the local Deniliquin Municipal Band, he quickly showed great promise as a musician across a wide variety of musical genres. Throughout his drumming career, Michael has been fortunate to have played on some of the worlds best stages; from the Deni Ute Muster to the Syd...ney Opera House and every small pub, RSL and Year 12 formal in between. Michael is a highly regarded drum teacher, having shared great successes with his students HSC exams, high scores in ANZCA drum set examinations and even teaching ARIA award winners! Michael is really looking forward to joining our already well respected drums and percussion faculty, and will be teaching students on Saturday mornings. Please join us in warmly welcoming him :-) And, if youre interested in lessons, Michael does currently have limited spaces available, so get in quick! and give us a call at The Con 5881 4736 :-) See more

17.01.2022 A little more about our accomplished performers for this Fridays FREE Lunchtime Classical live stream at 1pm. Will we "see" you there? CHARLOTTE RYSSENBEEK (Violin) Charlotte has completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Queensland (Art History and English), and a Master of Music Performance in Violin with Bill Hennessey at the University of Melbourne. Following her arts degree, Charlotte attended the Aspen Music Festival Summer School in Colorado, where she was a st...udent of Dorothy Delay and Piotr Milewski. Charlotte has played with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Queensland Symphony Orchestra. She has also played in several major musicals including The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story and Dr. Zhivago. Charlotte lives in Woodend with her husband James and children Nina, Audrey and Willem, and is thrilled to be playing with Edwina on Friday! EDWINA CORDINGLY (Cello) Edwina received her Bachelor of Music with first-class honours from the Elder Conservatorium of Music, Adelaide University. She was then a full scholarship holder for three years in the Advanced Performance Program of the Australian National Academy of Music, Melbourne. With a brief interlude to trek around South America for six months with her husband, Edwina then moved to the United Kingdom to further her studies and perform. She spent 6 months studying Baroque cello privately in Edinburgh with David Watkin before moving down to London upon receiving an apprenticeship with Sir John Eliot Gardiner. Edwina went on to tour Europe with Sir John Eliot Gardiner in his ensembles, the English Baroque Soloists and the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique. She then toured Europe as Principal Cello for The Gabrieli Consort and Players under the baton of Paul McCreesh. Back in Australia Edwina plays with orchestras and chamber groups including Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, the Wallfisch Band, Ludovicos Band, Pinchgut Opera co., The Australian Haydn Ensemble, Elysium Ensemble and Accademia Arcadia. As most of her time these days is taken wrangling two small children in lockdown she is thrilled to be here playing with good friend Charlotte on Friday.

13.01.2022 In support of our growing program delivery, South West Music Regional Conservatorium welcomes the return of former guitar and vocal student, Zara Lindeman, as our newest music teacher! Zara studied guitar with the Con for several years under the tutelage of Chris Bodey and recently completed a Diploma of Music (Performance). At the conclusion of her HSC in 2019 she moved interstate to explore and develop her music career. Despite initial success, as with so many musicians an...d people connected to the live music industry, when COVID hit Zara made the decision to return home to her Deniliquin roots. South West Music Interim Director, Kate Butler, wasted no time in taking the opportunity to engage Zara for South West Music’s vocal program under the mentorship of experienced teacher and musician, Richard Sievers. Zara will be performing along with fellow South West Music student alumni Anna Bowie and Georgina Mildren at South West Music’s FREE live music season opening in the Waring Gardens on Sunday, 7 February 2020. She is available for vocal lessons from Monday, 8 February. Enquiries can be made directly with the Con 5881 4736.
