08.01.2022 Pickup detailing during setup and service on our Fernandes ST-40. Whilst tarnished pole pieces dont really affect the performance of the pickup, its always a good idea to check them for any serious rust growths below the bobbin top, as said growths are prone to bulging against and eventually breaking the coil wire; easily preventable if you can treat the pole piece in time. The pole pieces in this original Gotoh Super Pickup (a pretty blatant (and great!) Dimarzio Super D...istortion clone), were all fine. 04.01.2022 After a long limbo on the back burner, our Yamaha CP-80 Baby Grand piano is finally being tuned up and detailed. 88 Keys with true piano string harp, coupled with 88 individual piezo style pickups. Onboard Tremolo and active preamplifier. It needed two strings (donated from another CP80 here, ensuring a perfect match in terms of metal composition), and a slight power supply modification to allow usage with standardised 18VDC Power Packs, (Centre Negative, 1100ma, 2.1mm; as so...ld at @musicswopshop for $20!) It is in 100% working order and very very clean. Complete with legs and travel lid to protect the Keys and preamp.
