25.01.2022 SPIRITUAL CARE | Hello my name is John. As an Anglican priest for over 60s years, hospital pastoral care has often been part of my job (sometimes also teaching it). However it is only since volunteering at Bankstown from 1998 till now that sharing this form of spiritual care has become of first importance for me. I connect with people of all ages but especially enjoy visiting with the aged and isolated and those with mental health problems. I enjoy doing this in co-operation with team members and with our supportive staff.

25.01.2022 SPIRITUAL CARE | Hi My name is Bethany and I am Anglican Chaplain and Chaplain Coordinator at the hospital. My role is to provide spiritual care and support to patients, families and staff. One of the main ways that I do this is by going onto the wards and doing rounds, offering patients and those visiting the option of support by talking through whatever is on their heart and helping them with finding meaning and hope amidst the difficulties of life. People will also request for me to come and see them or their loved one for care and support, especially at the end of life. It is such a privilege to be able to meet people from all different backgrounds, to hear their stories, and to come alongside them to provide what they need as they find themselves in hospital.
