23.01.2022 A new homeless service that simplifies access to crisis and prevention services is now up and running, offering a single contact point for any South Australia...n who needs assistance. Homeless Connect SA is available at 1800 003 308 for anyone needing homelessness support, including youth services - replacing the Homelessness Gateway. The new service is a joint alliance between two community organisations with proud histories of helping those who need our support most - Uniting Communities and SYC. Homeless Connect SA runs 24/7, every day of the year - call 1800 003 308.

We are busy working together with our homelessness service providers to ensure additional accommodation and support is available to assist people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. In Adelaide: Westcare (Baptist Care SA), 11/19 Millers Ct Adelaide will be open for overnight accommodation Street to Home will be providing additional outreach services to people experiencing homelessness Trace-A-Place (SYC), 135 Currie St Adelaide will be extending hours until 7pm tonight. In regional areas, if you are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, please call the South Australian Homelessness Gateway on 1800 003 308 to be connected to local services and emergency accommodation. No matter where you are in South Australia, the Homelessness Gateway is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round. Eastern Adelaide Aboriginal Specific Homeless Service: 9-5pm (Case Management/Intake) Food Hub: Monday to Thursday, 10am-3:30pm. Trace-A-Place (SYC) (135 Currie St Adelaide), open for young rough sleepers and those in need of emergency accommodation. 9am 5pm, Monday - Friday. Neami National - Street To Home is conducing outreach and intakes at 250 Wright Street. Hutt St Centre (258 Hutt St) open 7am Monday to Saturday for breakfast, lunch and showers. 06.01.2022 In the GFC, teenage and youth unemployment spiked in 2008 and 2009 and general unemployment did too. But while general unemployment trended back down through to 2019, youth and teenage unemployment stayed where it was at GFC level. And now, with COVID-19, it's climbing again.
