25.01.2022 We will re-open at the start of term 3, July 13. It was not viable to start earlier. Some unfortunate news - our staff member Matthew has had an accident and broken his leg. So he will be absent for the start of term 3. Troy will be covering for Matt.

21.01.2022 So a few more months of closure due to the virus. How can we teach swimming skills during lockdown? Or how do limit the loss of skills brought about by not practising for eight or nine months? We have always encouraged the practice of swim skills in the bath. Now that we cannot use pools in Victoria, bath practice is even more important. How do you extend your child’s skills while in the bath?... To help we are offering swimming tuition via the internet. Introducing Tele Learn To Swim. Through the internet we can; For babies; - Help you prepare your new born baby for learning to swim - Help you and your baby feel comfortable in the bath - Teach breath control to your baby - Teach your baby to submerge For experienced babies, preschool children and non-swimming schools aged children; - If necessary, the same as for younger babies, plus - teaching floating on their back and stomach - teaching the breathing skills necessary for swimming - teaching rolling from a back float to a stomach float and back again and again - teaching the breathing technique necessary for breathing (turning your head) Of course, if you have access to a swimming pool or large spa, we can teach further. Then upon return to lessons kids who have practised these skills will be far more ready to progress their learning than a baby who is still not submerging or an older child who is uncomfortable breathing while swimming. The Learn to Swim industry is concerned the 20/21 swimming season could well see a tragic rise in the number of drownings due to the lack of practice in lessons this year. If you would like more information about TeleLearnToSwim please contact the school by Facebook or email- [email protected]

20.01.2022 With kids out of the water for so long this year parents will need to be extra vigilant supervising their kids when near water. https://www.facebook.com/watch/

20.01.2022 This is a petition aiming to get Learn To swim pools opened earlier http://chng.it/Ndr8VH7JnY

18.01.2022 Adult lessons. Welcome back. The government has made no specific rulings about adult classes other than pool maximum numbers and social distancing. So we are ready to start teaching adults again. Regular classes on Tuesday at 7.15 and Thursday at 6.30 or by appointment.

17.01.2022 Horrible story as we return to lessons on Monday. These rings are promoted as helping a child's development but they are a death trap waiting to happen.

16.01.2022 We're excited to be swimming again! Both of our pools are open to happy swimmers from this morning. Things look a little different but we're happy to do everything possible to keep everyone safe if it means seeing your smiling faces back in the water. Congratulations to our team on working hard to make it happen!... We look forward to swimming with you soon!

13.01.2022 Just announced on Facebook... Victoria's getting sports vouchers! Can everyone please write a comment in the premier's post asking if it includes learning to swim and/or suggesting it should include learning to swim and let's get swimming noticed! In Qld it is only for swim clubs/competition. In NSW it is for both learn to swim and swim clubs. Make it known that it should be for learn to swim.

13.01.2022 REOPENING! Swim schools have been given permission to reopen from Monday, November 9. The government is placing restrictions on our operations keeping us Covid safe. So numbers, both in the pool and on pool deck, will be restricted. Bookings have commenced. Our most efficient contact is email - [email protected]

12.01.2022 Let's stop the spread. Stay Home, save lives. Unfortunately we are closed for all lessons because of the Covid Restrictions. We will be reopening as soon as restrictions are eased.

11.01.2022 While waiting for lockdown to end we know your children can take major learning steps to developing the skills necessary to float and learning the breathing technique for swimming. If you need help give us a call.

11.01.2022 New Year? Yes please! Here’s to better times ahead for us all! Wishing you a very happy Christmas and a safe and healthy 2021. Lessons recommence January 28. Limited holiday intensive starts on January 4.

10.01.2022 This is an American story. While America's summer is over, Australia is coming into the warmer months. Total Drowning statistics for America have not been published although there have been some tragic results in some states. Please, supervise your kids. There is a fear that this will be a horror year for drownings in Australia.

06.01.2022 We have many new families so this story is aimed at them but still is a timely reminder to all our families

01.01.2022 Since COVID-19, drownings in Victoria are 300% higher than the average for the same period over the past 5 years, with 12 recently recorded drownings. Learn to swim is an essential service, and life skill which relies on pools (especially indoor pools) being open and able to operate. https://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au//six-months-of-no-le/
