24.01.2022 Just seen this post in another group and thought Id post on here; I AM A CRANE OPERATOR Along with my riggers, we are a service to all crafts. They depend on ...us to support them in all they do. If we make a mistake the entire job knows within minutes. Bad words spread like wildfire! A Crane wreck is the most expensive accident on the job. Not Just in dollars but in human lives. They prosecute the operator and riggers for involuntary manslaughter, then the grieving family sues for wrongful death. OUR CAREERS ARE OVER FOREVER Our families lives will never be the same because we are in prison. So the next time you hear me sound my horn or my rigger blow the whistle, giving you time to get out of harms way... Move! The swing radius barricade is in place for your protection, as well as my peace of mind, knowing that I can swing the crane without wondering if Im about to crush someone. Every time we make a lift, its for other craft. We are here to help. God forbid we ever hurt anyone of you. Dont take the shortcut around something by ducking under that barricade! Dont park a truck or another piece of equipment behind the crane in my blind spot! My riggers and I are a team. I trust them with my life and my reputation every day. Just as they do with me. We have been put in the man hours through training,schooling and working jobs to be quality craftsman. So the next time you think "all they do is sit and pull levers... Aint nothing to it." Think about what would happen to you, your families, our families because you were too busy to stop and get out-of-the-way of the load swinging over your head. Please respect our effort to keep everyone safe. Thanks from all crane operators and riggers! (Borrowed, not stolen)
