The presentation is divided into five Movements and at the start of each is described where Van Gough was working, the style and the subjects he pursued and his life circumstances. Accompanying the presentation is a soundtrack of classical music delivered through cinema-quality surround sound. There are also fragrances, for example cypress and lemon but I couldnt detect these with my mask on. This is a spectacular presentation that can be enjoyed quite superficially or in greater depth. For those wanting to delve a bit deeper, there are fourteen Selected Works displayed outside the projection space. These works were created from February 1888 to July 1890 and the displays feature reproductions and descriptions of the works plus what was happening in Van Goughs life when they were created. There is also a reconstruction of Vincents Bedroom in Arles which he painted and sketched. Also available to purchase ($25) is an 80 page program that includes images of the projections and art, quotes, Movement introductions and the fourteen Selected Works. There is time for you to view the Selected Works or read the program before or after the digital presentation. The venue is The Royal Hall of Industries, adjacent to the Entertainment Quarter. It is open 7 days a week (although most of the school holiday sessions are already sold out) with tickets on sale until Nov 22. The admission cost is Adult $59.00, Child 5-12 Years $27.00, Child 13-17 Years $34.00, Family (2A + 2C or 1A + 3C) (Admits 4) $155.00, Student (with ID) $52.00, Concession $52.00 The season is COVID-aware with QR code check in upon arrival, temperature checks on entry, compulsory mask wearing, hand sanitiser available, timed entry, limited entry to restrict numbers within COVID regulations and reminders to physically distance by 1.5m.
