18.01.2022 Hi All. I just wanted to share a feel good story about my latest pain management client. This one stands out as being the most severe case of hyper sensitivity ive worked with. Moving and focusing his eyes is a trigger for physical pain as is any light source, low level sound and most touch. Cant use a phone or rest his head on a back rest or listen to music...wow! Has built multiple pain associations to most of his environment and senses. He's spiraling further in to his dep...ressive state being worn down by the pain. We tried multiple chairs to find one acceptable so he wasn't in excessive pain and so i had half a chance of getting him in to working state. This guy is such a mess and i cant help but feel for him. All this pain was affecting his stress response impacting on his gut with all the relative symptoms that wear us down. First session he symptom scaled at a severity of 8 out of 10, which reduced to 3/10 post session. He smiled and his partners face glowed with excitement saying she cant remember the last time she saw him smile. Not only was this a win for him reporting that after all the specialists he has seen he now has hope but for his relationship too. Second session today presented at a severity of 4/10 down to 0.5 to totally gone post session. I'm one of those that won't just show the initial treatment response as the final result and will report back in if/when the pain returns to some degree by next session. For me this is a win as that smile reminded me of just how powerful this work can be and how it can not only change lives but improve relationships too
