11.01.2022 During the NSW Open State Titles Sept 2019 an incident arose that could have escalated out of hand had it not been for the intervention of an off duty NSW police officer. We reported the incident to the interstate competitors club along with one to the SSME Board and even after a follow up email to the club, we have as of this date, we have had no reply from the competitors club. With the club not responding to our report it would appear that they have condoned his actions wh...ich we the Quarter Scale Section of the SSME and the SSME Board do not and will not accept confrontational behaviour in any way, nor should any club accept an entry from such a person for at least twelve months or if not longer for his actions. This competitor will no longer be welcome at our venue. We believe that the club and the competitor has bought our hobby into disrepute with their actions and non-action in this matter. We make no mention of the club or the competitor involved here, however should any club require details please email to [email protected] or message this page. This is not the place for a public vendetta against the club or the competitor and we will delete any comments we feel are inappropriate.

02.01.2022 Had a great day with Liani, Annabella and Matt Mat Burton at the NSW Quarter Scale RC Speedway Titles at the SSME Luddenham Raceway. Andrew Green and I donated... several copies of Caged Heat and the members present were certainly happy to receive this beautiful publication, along with some very impressive trophies. The racing is super fast and the track is banked and bigger than I expected - in fact the entire set-up is very impressive indeed. The cars - not cheap at all to run - are as intricate as the real thing; sprintcars, dirt modifieds, modifieds, speedcars and late models were present to race, and man, they get going. And if you think it isn't competitive, well, think again. These guys even get nervous before a race, and are happy to voice their opinions, should they need to if there are on-track incidents that need discussion! Australian Speedcar Grand Prix champ, and three time national Compact Speedcar Champion Ron Hutchinson was there to present trophies, along with Yours Truly. Liani and Annabella also helped on the day. In fact, several of these images are Annabella's... I think my oldest daughter will make a great photographer one day... These images give you an idea about what Quarter Scale RC racing is all about - make the time to come out one day, I was really surprised just how good it all is. Looking at me in the photo, and considering I have been hitting the bag - boxing bag that is - it's time to lose even more of those Winter kilos... And fast! Lol. Great day - thanks Geoff Booth and all concerned. These cars and the people associated with them are just great to be around. It opened my eyes. Something for racers to do during the off season for sure... All images copyright free... Share away!
