23.01.2022 The water is hot, the shelter is up, and we’re ready to serve you a cuppa! Come join us from 9:30am-11am for a free warm cup of deliciousness and community connection!
22.01.2022 Today is a difficult day for many, so here are a few suggestions for things to do instead of watching and participating in a harmful industry!
21.01.2022 "The other morning I was walking back from preschool drop off. This morning was a rush like always... but then I spotted a familiar figure ahead of me Bushy. One of my regular prayers over many years now has been that God provide interruptions in my day. I’m not talking about the photocopier jamming but that God would put things in my day to capture my attention and remind me what is really important. More recently I’ve changed this prayer. I’m no longer praying for inter...ruptions but interventions." Mitch shares on the blog this week about his friend and the joy of being open to God intervening and showing us the valuable things in life... click the link to read the whole story!
21.01.2022 A huge thank you to our friends over at Athena Home Loans who have raised almost $3000 in the Red Shield Appeal Digital Doorknock for Streetlevel Mission! We are so grateful to have you on board!

21.01.2022 What a fun time sharing with the kids at KU John J. Carroll Preschool this week about what Sydney Streetlevel Mission do to help people in need in our community throughout the year but especially at Christmas. So many great questions from the kids about what we do, why we do it, how they can help and (a curve ball) our favourite colours. A special thanks to all the kids, parents and teachers for bringing in food and toys to help support people in need in our community. #unityincommunity #streetlevelrepresent #mycommunity #surryhills #salvos #merrychristmas2020
20.01.2022 , , , . - Romans 15:7 "Refugees are here in Australia because they are seeking protection and safety, however instead of welcome and hospitality they often face increased prejudice. Christians are commanded to protect the imago dei by extending a hand of welcome to refugees and people seeking asylum in our communities." - Joseph Youhana... At Streetlevel we welcome all peoples, and this includes our refugee and asylum seeker family.
18.01.2022 Hi Streetlevel Family, We're currently looking for a community worker to join our team at Sydney Streetlevel Mission. If you or someone you know has a passion for working in community please check out the job ad below to see if this is for you.
18.01.2022 As we see all that is going on in the world right now, may we also acknowledge what has happened and continues to happen in our own country, against our First Peoples. For Uncle Vince Ross Madi-Madi man, convenor of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group and a national elder with the Salvos reconciliation means building real relationships or, as he puts it, ‘Christianity with our sleeves rolled up’. Let us commit to action to change our country's treatment of our Aboriginal peoples.

16.01.2022 Since March when things really started locking down due to Covid-19, the team at Sydney Streetlevel Mission have been providing a free lunch to the community every week day from the top of our laneway - rain, hail or shine. The meal (as always) is delicious but the regular check-ins and conversations with isolated community members helps to ensure people are connected, safe, known and loved. We will get through this together. #streetlevelrepresent #surryhills #salvos #unityincommunity #mycommunity #consistent @salvosau #hopeful
16.01.2022 Dust off your walking shoes because walking group is back. We're back on at the regular time of 2pm Wednesdays and we'll be walking (physically distanced of course) for an hour. Meet at the top of our laneway (Derby Lane, Surry Hills) from 1:45pm for a great time of exercise, community and connection. While we're walking tomorrow you can join in our discussion around Matthew 4:1-10 - no pressure if you just want to come for a walk too. ... #walkinggroup #goodbyecovidkilos #bettertogether #streetlevelrepresent

09.01.2022 Mitch shares on the blog this week: "In this season it can be difficult to see the impact of what we’re doing day to day. I did a quick calculation and since we’ve started doing take away lunches from the top of our laneway we’ve prepared and served approximately 9000+ meals. We’ve served these meals on sunny days when it’s warm and everything is relatively easy. We’ve also served these meals on stormy days when the rain is coming in sideways and we’ve had to hold our shelter down so it wouldn’t blow away. Every day no matter the weather, even if there are team members away or whatever else is going on we keep turning up."
09.01.2022 Today is National Sorry Day. National Sorry Day came from one of the recommendations from the Bringing them Home Report released in 1997. Today is the day on th...e nation’s calendar where we remember the Stolen Generations. "And every morning as the sun came up the whole family would wail. They did that for 32 years until they saw me again. Who can imagine what a mother went through? But you have to learn to forgive." - Inscription at Colebrook Blackwood Reconciliation Park There was my Mother still down on her knees, the scene that I saw broke my heart as though somebody has pierced my heart with a sharp knife, Mother down on her knees and Granny frail old woman put her arms around her Daughter trying to comfort her both crying, tears streaking down my cheeks as we drove away, and that scene has remained with me as I was growing up, it was the last time I’ve seen them and they were never to be seen again. - Connie Cole
09.01.2022 It's NAIDOC week, when we celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
