25.01.2022 Two of our amazing SAC actors saw two other amazing SAC actors doing an amazing scene in an amazing SAC class. The two actors are inspired and decide, "we can shoot this". The result? AMAZING! We love the 1% attitude and while this pandemic has squashed some peoples creativity, Anna and Eliza have decided to harness their energy into doing something they love. Join us on Saturday 26th September and Saturday 3rd October, 2-5 pm from the comfort of your own home and learn more about the world of acting. Resident acting coach Sean Hall will work with you help unleash that inner actor. 22.01.2022 During this SAC exclusive course, Broadway star Isaiah Johnson will take each actor through his process and journey to help them discover deeper connection and new avenues to their material. In a SAC first, Isaiah will be offering this to actors wishing to work on a monologue OR musical theatre song! WHO IS ISAIAH JOHNSON? Isaiah Johnson is a name that resonates in the NY Broadway world. He has worked in plays such as The Color Purple, The Merchant of Venice, Side ...Show, Peter and the Star Catcher, Othello and most impressive, star of the worldwide hit musical HAMILTON. Isaiah has worked with Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Lawrence, Lin-Manuel Miranda and many more and has just wrapped a TV show for Oprah Winfrey. HOW DOES THIS COURSE WORK? Week 1 All actors will need to source their own material. Actors will tape a monologue or musical theatre song of their choosing. We encourage actors to choose material that they have used or are using for auditions. Once taped actors will send the link to SAC. Isaiah will view each tape and offer MP3 notes on their work. 03.01.2022 Please don't suffer for your Art. Please don't do that. Please don't think you have to be poor to be an artist, or to follow your dreams. That idea, it's old. It's antiquated. Maybe there was a time and place where it was valid to suffer for your art, and to be poor so you can dedicate time to your art. But that was probably when there was no such thing as a part time job.... It's not noble to suffer for your art. It's just unkind and you'll probably just be an asshole to the people around you :) You don't need to suffer for your Art. Life will give you plenty of opportunities to experience suffering, you don't need to choose it, especially not for your Art. Choose instead to live. Live a life that is worthy of an Artists paint brush, a Poet's word, a Dancers movement, a Singers Song. Try that. Choose to follow the joy of pursuing and creating Art however it comes.Not for fame or for success but for the simple pleasure of being present to the niggle of inspiration that chose you, to help it come into being. Whether through a character, a painting, a song, a poem, a little garden, a cup of coffee you artfully make for a friend. Life can be your Art. It's not a new thought, a new idea. To see your life as Art. Something you get to create every single day. Every new day a blank canvas for you to write/paint/dance/create upon. But it's worth remembering. Don't you think?
