25.01.2022 Interesting, I wonder what the quality is like. Could it be that the sensation is so beguiling that the sound quality becomes, after a fair level of fidelity, secondary to the novel and obviously enjoyable experience?

14.01.2022 After talking to enthusiasts, distributors, and retailers, there seems to be little interest in true HiRes or surround for music, even though these have been available for a decade or so. Tidal's Master High-Res Quality is 96k MQA - passé by today's standards and about 20 years behind recording technology. Even my older Samsung phone supports 192k 24 bit uncompressed. A respected retailer says "CD can sound very, very good", which is true, but true HiRes is even better. Secon...dly, surround has been available via DVD, SACD, BluRay, even broadcast - but there seems to be little interest from audiophiles. How many have heard the surround version on their discs ? 12.01.2022 Quincy Jones 11h I am absolutely devastated to learn the news that we lost my dear brother-in-arms, the legendary Bruce Swedien. There are not enough words to express how much Bruce meant to meHe was without question the absolute best engineer in the business, & for more than 70 years I wouldn’t even think about going into a recording session unless I knew Bruce was behind the board. Along with the late great Rod Temperton, we reached heights that we could have never imag...ined & made history together. I have always said it’s no accident that more than four decades later no matter where I go in the world, in every club, like clockwork at the witching hour you hear Billie Jean, Beat It, Wanna Be Starting Something, & Thriller. That was the sonic genius of Bruce Swedien, & to this day I can hear artists trying to replicate him. I’m going to miss your presence every single day Svensk, but I will cherish every moment we shared together laughin’, lovin’, livin’, & givin’...Rest In Peace my brother. See more

05.01.2022 Club Meetings Update The committee feels that the current club venue restrictions make our regular meetings impractical. These are - 22 widely spaced people at a meeting No use of kitchen... No close proximity discussion groups, even if informal. Understandably presenters are reluctant to attend under these conditions also. Two of us will be going to the venue for COVID safety procedure instruction, and we are making provisional bookings for 2021. See more
