14.01.2022 Baha'is around the globe will observe the Martyrdom of the Báb on 9 July at noon, marking the moment He was executed in Tabriz, Persia, for standing up for equality and justice. Join us tomorrow via live stream from the Sydney Temple as we offer prayers to commemorate the anniversary of His martyrdom. The Báb set in motion a fresh cycle of religious teachings that opened the path for the message of Baháulláh, offering a new vision of a unified world. Following The Bábs p...ublic execution in 1850, His body was laid to rest 60 years later in Haifa, Israel. The Shrine of the Báb symbolises the Bahai message of unity, peace, love and selfless service to the world. 14.01.2022 Baha’is all over the world will commemorate the Ascension of Abdu'l-Baha, who lived a remarkable life by serving and contributing to humanity. Communities around Australia will mark the occasion in their homes, and the House of Worship will hold a special service and live-stream it on 27th November at 1:15am. Abdu'l-Baha worked tirelessly to spread Baha’u’llah’s (His Father) teachings of hope and universal peace in both words and deeds. Abdu'l-Baha’s writings form a part of ...Baha’i scripture. Abdu’l-Baha passed away peacefully in his home on November 28, 1921, in Haifa. At His funeral, on 29 November 1921, some ten thousand people Baha’is, Jews, Christians and Muslims from all persuasions and denominations gathered on Mount Carmel in Haifa to mourn the passing of one who was eulogised as the essence of virtue and wisdom, of knowledge and generosity. 13.01.2022 "Do not be content with showing friendship in words alone, let your heart burn with loving kindness for all who may cross your path". A local Sydney suburb has been creating meaningful friendships in their neighbourhood and connecting souls. Two families moved into a newly built suburb just over a year and a half ago and wanted to contribute to the betterment of their community. Upon arrival, these two families were thrilled with the warmth and friendliness of their neighbou...rs. Because everyone had moved in around the same time, they were keen to get to know each other and build genuine friendships. The two families wanted to continue contributing to this vibrant community so after several months, they suggested to start a regular neighbourhood gathering. This complemented the spirit of love, generosity and friendship but also created a space where more spiritual topics could be discussed among the adults, youth and children collectively - topics such as unity, love and the oneness of humanity/eliminating prejudice. In these testing and uncertain times, meaningful friendships and staying connected with your neighbours can really uplift your spirit! Join us for a live-stream service on Sunday 26 July at 11am on the theme of International Day of Friendship.

11.01.2022 This is a pre-recorded and remixed broadcast of a service on the theme "trials and tribulations"

11.01.2022 The Day of the Covenant is celebrated by Baha’is on 25 November, and the House of Worship will broadcast a special service at 11am. If you would like to attend the service, you will need to register using the link in the bio. One of the unique characteristics of the Baha’i Faith is the Covenant. In His Will, Bahá’u’lláh instructed all to turn to His eldest son, Abdu’l-Bahá, not only as the authorised interpreter of the Bahá’í Writings but also as the perfect exemplar of the ...Faith’s spirit and teachings. Abdu’l-Bahá’s extraordinary qualities of character, His knowledge and His service to humanity offered a vivid demonstration of Bahá’u’lláh’s teachings in action. After the passing Abdu’l-Baha in 1921, the Baha’is turned to Shoghi Effendi, Abdu’l-Baha’s grandson, and the Universal House of Justice. The clear provisions for the for the Baha’is who can turn to institutions and have the Baha’i Writings for guidance helps safeguard its unity. O ye that dwell on earth! The religion of God is for love and unity; make it not the cause of enmity or dissension That which is conducive to the regeneration of the world and the salvation of the peoples and kindreds of the earth hath been sent down from the heaven of the utterance of Him Who is the Desire of the world. Give ye a hearing ear to the counsels of the Pen of Glory. Better is this for you than all that is on the earth. Bahá’u’lláh. 09.01.2022 The Báb, whose title means The Gate, was the Herald of the Bahai Faith. He declared it was His mission to prepare the way for a new Divine Messenger who would fulfil the prophecies of the past and usher in an age of peace and justice. The Bábs message aroused hope and excitement among people from every walk of life and prepared many for the coming of Baha'u'llah. Join us next Thursday 9 July at 11:15am AEST for a live-streamed special service where we will remember the remarkable life of the Báb and the story of His heroic Martyrdom.

08.01.2022 Music and the arts play an important role in the Baha'i Faith and form the foundation of a lot of the devotional character of Baha'i communities across Australia and New Zealand. They can serve to awaken spiritual susceptibilities, contribute to social change and infuse a new spirit into the life of the community. Baha'u'llah, the Founder of the Baha'i Faith, wrote "We, verily, have made music as a ladder for your souls, a means whereby they may be lifted up unto the realm on high." - Baha'u'llah, The Most Holy Book, p. 38.

08.01.2022 Pre-recorded and remixed broadcast of a service on the theme "power of prayer".

07.01.2022 In line with NSW Government advice due to the evolving COVID-19 cluster in the Northern Beaches, the Baha’i House of Worship will be closed from 18-20 December. Our weekly live- streamed services have been postponed until further notice.

07.01.2022 The Ascension of Bahaullah (18171892), prophet-founder of the Baha Faith is a solemn occasion commemorated by Bahas worldwide at 3:00 a.m. on May 28 or 29 annually.

04.01.2022 To mark the passing of dearly loved and former member of the Universal House of Justice Dr. Farzam Arbab, a special memorial service will be held in his honour at the Sydney Baha’i House of Worship at 1.30pm Sunday (AEDT) on 8 November 2020. The service will be live-streamed to enable all to participate. The Universal House of Justice wrote the following message after Dr. Arbab’s passing: "With grief-stricken hearts we mourn the sudden passing of our former colleague, our dea...rly loved brother Farzam Arbab, news of which has brought us fresh sorrow. His brilliant mind, loving heart, and vibrant spirit were ever turned towards the Revelation of Bahá’u’lláh, seeking to draw from it insights that, through the process of education, could build spiritual and intellectual capacity within entire populations. Born in Iran, he studied in the United States before settling in Colombia as a pioneer. His outstanding gifts fitted him, it seemed, for a distinguished career in the physical sciencesbut Providence had determined otherwise. His rigorous scientific training was instead applied to the work of the Faith. He recognized that the verities contained in the Bahá’í writings concerning spiritual and social transformation and the entry into the Faith of the masses of humanity demanded persistent effort to learn how to bring them about; the investment of his whole being in this great enterprise was complete and constant. Throughout his time as a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of Colombia, as a Continental Counsellor, as a member of the International Teaching Centre, and finally as a member of the Universal House of Justice for two decades, his unshakeable belief in the capacity of all of God’s children, especially of young people, was the hallmark of his service to the Cause. Always insightful, always discerning, always attuned to spiritual reality, this man of exceptional vision lived a life shaped by the harmony between scientific truth and true religion." See more

03.01.2022 Today we celebrate Universal Children's Day and honour the global action we want to take for creating a better future for children in the community. Join us for a dedicated service on Sunday 22nd Nov at 11am via live-stream or, if attending in person, by registering with the link in the bio. Children are the most precious treasure a community can possess, for in them are the promise and guarantee of the future. In a world where the joy and innocence of childhood can be so eas...ily overwhelmed by the aggressive pursuit of materialistic ends, the moral and spiritual education of children is vitally essential for them to receive spiritual nourishment. The goal of spiritual education is to cultivate in children spiritual qualities such as love, forgiveness and justice, and to help them apply these qualities to their own lives and those around them. "Children are even as a branch that is fresh and green; they will grow up in whatever way ye train them. Take the utmost care to give them high ideals and goals, so that once they come of age, they will cast their beams like brilliant candles on the world, and will not be defiled by lusts and passions in the way of animals, heedless and unaware, but instead will set their hearts on achieving everlasting honor and acquiring all the excellences of humankind".
