18.01.2022 A Sleeve Gastrectomy is a procedure to remove 3/4 of the stomach with a stapling device. It is commonly performed laparoscopically so recovery time is quick and patients have a short hospital stay.

12.01.2022 In Gastric Bypass procedure, a small stomach pouch is created to restrict food intake. Then a loop of bowel is brought up and the small intestine is attached to the pouch to create the bypass. This is performed through key-hole which assists with short recovery time. Patients achieve great weight loss with Gastric Bypass surgery.

08.01.2022 Dr Tony Brancatisano BAppSc MBBS, PhD is head of research at Sydney Bariatric Clinic. He is responsible for the clinic’s active participation in the Bariatric Surgical Registry, a National Registry of all surgical activity in the field of weight loss surgery in Australia. Dr Tony is on the board of ANZMOSS which is the Australian and New Zealand society for metabolic and obesity surgery. ANZMOSS currently is interested in the role of social media in the bariatric decision making process and is looking for people who have either had bariatric surgery or thinking about it.
