We are looking for our next on-water Photo-bomb Manager/Kayak Guide to join our Award Winning kayak tour business on Sydney Harbour! ... . . For the first time, we will consider someone with no qualifications. We are looking for the right person, who we are happy to invest in training and career progression with us . . So, what are we looking for? First Aid and CPR The ability to work well with others. A drivers license. You must be a morning person. Coffee is provided, but it’s important you are on time and just bubbly enough to help those who are not morning people A nurturing, yet fun personality. You must be a good story-teller! In the early days, you’ll be co-Guiding, but we have big plans to train new Head Guides and engaging story-tellers! You’ll need to be physically fit and able to lift and unload our 18kg kayaks. You must be extremely diligent and careful when it comes to people’s safety on the harbour. Exceptional timekeeping is paramount. There is only one sunrise, so it is important that you are conscious of the time. Being able to sing Happy Birthday would be a bonus . . 22.01.2022 It is always a pleasure kayaking with the team from the Shangri-la hotel. These guys are such a positive group of amazing people, who genuinely care about their team, their customers and the environment . . I don’t think I’ve ever met a team member from Kieron’s team, who isn’t smiling and genuinely loving life .... . Today, we cleaned up the harbour, collecting 5.1kg of microplastic and other rubbish. The harbour is now sparkling . . After the team left today, a gentleman walked past with his granddaughter and mentioned to me that he knew the group that just walked past. When I told him they had just helped us clean up the harbour, he said his heart was melting with pride that a team from such a big hotel would come out and do such an amazing thing He is apparently a regular diner at the Shangri-la hotel and he said he loves them even more now . . 18.01.2022 It was such a pleasure teaching and inspiring the children in today’s free kids kayaking lesson . . We did a lot of learning at the beach, prior to picking up our paddles. It’s important to understand the conditions, learn about the equipment and go over different scenarios, prior to actually kayaking .... . The younger kids gave it a really good go and answered all my questions and picked up the strokes with flying colours! . . The older kids were amazing, too! After our lesson, we paddled out to the edge of the bay and got some great photos . . We have another 14 kids booked in this week! Let’s hope the weather holds out . . As many of you know, we love supporting great causes at Sydney by Kayak and this project is up there as one of our favourites .... . Last year, we contributed $4,000 towards the installation of the Seabin at the Sydney SeaLife Aquarium in Darling Harbour. This year, we are having our very own Seabin installed in Lavender Bay, thanks to all the paddlers who have joined us for fundraisers and clean-up paddles . . 13.01.2022 Twinning! . . They’ve been a long time coming! We ordered 10 new kayaks last year and in keeping with the theme of 2020, things got a little held up. .... . We did have these 10 kayaks delivered to our new, secret location, up on the Great Barrier Reef, but until they’re needed next winter, we decided we needed them here in Sydney, so we welcome our hi-ace, Maximus Vanimus, out of retirement, too . . We are super proud and excited to have hired two new amazing Kayak Guides, Alex and Chris, and are now able to run two seperate Sunrise tours with four amazing Guides on weekends! . . If you’d like to join us for a weekend Sunrise tour, please add yourself to the waitlist and as we get closer to that weekend, we’ll open those extra few seats up . .
