16.01.2022 BIG INCREASE IN NATIONAL PARKS over 202,000 hectares has been added to the NSW National Parks estate in a single day! This is the largest single day addition ...since 2005. A total of 9.27% of NSW, or 7,428,549 hectares, is now protected in NSW national parks and reserves an area the size of Belgium and the Netherlands combined. This is especially good news for our threatened species. Narriearra Caryapundy Swamp National Park, the largest single purchase in history for NSW National Parks, includes 90% of the NSW range of the endangered Grey Grasswren. The expansion of Capertee National Park will protect valuable habitat for the critically endangered Regent Honeyeater. Additions to a suite of western NSW parks will help protect and restore threatened species such as the desert mouse, kultarr and malleefowl. 08.01.2022 So happy to be able to deliver all the goods donated by our club members to the Bilpin RFS and community hall. These ladies are working tiredlessly to feed all the RFS gals and guys. Even while we were there they were busy cutting onions and packing lunches and snacks. Apparently they had 40 trucks arrive this morning to stock up and have breakfast before a day of fire fighting. Hats off to all these troopers and thank you. They couldn’t believe a 4wd club even thought about them and their appreciation went beyond limits so thank you to everyone who contributed. They were humbled by our love and generosity and couldn’t thank us enough Kimmy and Glen xx

02.01.2022 I wanted to touch base with everyone to provide an SD4x4 Club update on behalf of the committee. Today the Committee voted to suspend Club business indefinitely given the Govt announcements over the weekend around non-essential travel and non-essential businesses closing. What does this mean for our Members:... 1 - The Club will postpone/cancel all trips/training/events on the calendar till further notice 2 - The Club will postpone/cancel all scheduled Committee/Club meetings till further notice We will continue to review the situation and provide updates to members via our Newsletter and via Facebook however all other business (other than essential services eg website, membership inquiries etc) will cease. This is to remain compliant with our Constitution around frequency of meeting requirements. Once the Govt lifts the restriction on Non-essential travel and social isolation - we will resume Club business, our meetings and set a timeline to take the Club towards its AGM (which is unlikely to be in July). We ask that everyone stay safe during these difficult times and if you are in need - please email or reach out on Facebook to our extended family for help - no one is alone during this pandemic.....
