24.01.2022 Cheque Presentation to Mary's House - 31st October 2019 As the Fundraising Chair, and together with our President Greg Bugden, and members Margaret Wong and Benjamin Chow, it was our great pleasure to present a cheque for $15,000 to Mary’s House today on behalf of SEBA - Sydney Executive Business Association. SEBA held a fundraising dinner for Mary’s House last month. We hope that our contribution will make a difference and help Mary’s House - a refuge for victims of domesti...c violence, in their work with providing a safe haven, counseling and support services to women and children affected by domestic violence, a cause very close to my heart. A big thank you to Willougby Council Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney for hosting us at her Chambers, together with Councillor Brendon Zhu in attendance.

05.01.2022 F U N D R A I S I N G D I N N E R What an absolutely fabulous and fun evening at the annual SEBA fun-raising dinner.... With a sumptuous Chinese banquet, complimentary wines, awesome prizes, entertainment by the Italian stallion George Vumbaca, together with a bunch of generous, like-minded and fun loving people, it’s a sure recipe for success. This year we partnered with the Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation. Established in 1987, Arrow is today the only national charity dedicated to helping medical researchers find better treatments for blood cancers, such as leukaemia, blood disorders and autoimmune diseases (such as Multiple Sclerosis) treatable by bone marrow and stem cell therapies. Arrow also funds PhD and nursing scholarships, and provides vital emergency funding, travel, accommodation and information to support patients, their carers and families. However, it is a very sad fact that they do not receive any government funding for the invaluable research and support services they provide. We had the opportunity to hear from Julie Soon, a lawyer and cancer survivor, who recounted her traumatic journey from the sudden discovery, to the treatment and having the bone marrow transplant donated by her one of her sisters. Despite Julie’s efforts to make light of the terrible ordeal she went through, she nonetheless brought most of us to tears as we were touched by her story, as well as the the feeling of both happiness for her victory over the disease and sadness for the loss of one of her friend who did not. Special mention to Gloria Vincent from Arrow for her dedication and contribution working closely with the SEBA fundraising committee over the past few months. Our appreciation also to everyone who attended for their generous support, with special mention of Damien Tudehope MP, Councillors Craig Chung and Vincent De Luca, Arrow Foundation Chairman Mark O’Hara and his wife, Tim Molloy, our brilliant guest auctioneer Jamie Thomas from Under the Hammer and our wonderful MC Chris Smith - radio talk show host from 2GB Radio. We’ll look forward to doing it all again next year! ** Please feel free to tag yourself or anyone you may know.
