23.01.2022 A small part of Sydneys sightseeing bus history that didnt last very long.

23.01.2022 7 years ago today City Sightseeing Pty Ltd purchased the Explorer Sydney and Bondi services from State Transit Authority. Immediately they stopped operating the City Sightseeing service and began operating both services as Explorer in open top double deck buses. This created an Australian brand that covered Sydney and Bondi, Brisbane, the Blue Mountains, Hobart, Perth and Darwin.

22.01.2022 Big Bus Sydney and Bondi Explorer would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and remind you that we operate our Sydney and Bondi tours every day through the holiday season. Please note; Stop 3 and 4 (Stop C and D on the Bondi service) will be closed throughout the holiday season. All transfers between the Sydney and Bondi services will take place at Central Station where we will have staff members to assist boarding. Happy holidays.

20.01.2022 It's news but nothing new. Be careful of Trivago and similar sites making promises that are too good to be true. The real news should be how long these sites have got away with it without repercussion.

20.01.2022 At 12.30 this afternoon the Sydney to Hobart yacht race starts. More than 700,000 people are expected to line the harbour to watch them leave and the weather forecast is predicting records may be broken this year. Due to the large number of spectators there may be some delays on our Bondi service but if you are caught up in this you may also find yourself in the best seat in the house.

20.01.2022 Sydney gets hot at this time of year so prepare yourself. Drinking plenty of water will keep you hydrated and hopping off at Bondi beach will cool you down. Also if you get too hot come downstairs and sit in the air conditioning for a while before going back upstairs for the best views in town.

18.01.2022 On Sunday 14th August Sydney hosts the City to Surf run which is very busy and makes the operation of the Bondi service impossible. Therefore anyone with tickets for the Sydney service (which still operates with minor diversions in place) will be able to use their tickets for an extra 24 hours on the Bondi service at no extra charge.

17.01.2022 Of course this week you have come to Sydney to see the fireworks, and they are amazing but while you are in town hop on a Big Bus double decker bus and see how spectacular Sydney is from the open top deck. We operate our Sydney and Bondi tours EVERY day of the year.

16.01.2022 In December 2010 more than a little rain fell on the City Sightseeing depot in Banksmeadow cementing the decision to put a roof over the yard. Today all of the buses shown here were either scrapped or moved to the operation in Darwin.

08.01.2022 City Sightseeing Pty Ltd purchased the single deck Explorer service from STA and modified the 15 double decker bus fleet livery overnight in November 2010. Here we see 430 in its new livery. The first CS Ankai on the new Explorer first day.

06.01.2022 Tara is one of our youngest staff members and still fairly new on the block. Tara has been a quality ground staff member at our Imax stop and as control for the Bondi Tour at Central station. Today she had her first day doing Control for the Sydney Tour at Circular Quay. This position involves overseeing the tour operations and keeping them running as smoothly as possible aswell as customer service. Well done Tara on completing your first solo day on control of the Sydney Tour, you have proven that you can do it and as always you have done it with a smile.

Enjoy the spectacular firework show, fall in love with the city as the whole world does and tell everyone how much you enjoyed the best views from the Big Bus tour of the most beautiful city in the world. Wishing all our friends and passengers a wonderful 2017. And yes we operate every day of the year even tomorrow although we start an hour later than normal on New Years Day. Our first departure from Circular Quay is at 09.30.

05.01.2022 Who remembers this one?

05.01.2022 Tuesday 25th April 2017 is ANZAC DAY, this is Australias day of rememberance to those who have served our nation and continue to do so in our defence force. The traditional ANZAC DAY march will take place in Sydney along Elizabeth St, this march attracts thousands of people young and old who line the street to pay respect. Our Sydney and Bondi services will operate all day with our normal shedule with a couple of minor detours due to road closures for the march.... The Sydney tour will not be able to access stop 2, Elizabeth St until after 4pm. The Bondi service will not be able to access stop B, Bathurst St all day. With our respect, we wish all those participating or attending the march a wonderful day.

04.01.2022 Oh deer. In 2000 when the Super Metrobuses were first imported from Hong Kong this very young man came to visit them in our Arncliffe depot and inform us that he would get a licence and drive them for us.
